2154 - Eagle alerting. I suspect at least one of our Eagles is on top of the nest tree.

Good morning, everyone!
Well, I didn't have the cam looking high enough last night:
Where it was:
Where at least one eagle is, and where she or he probably spent the night:
We can't both see this high and see the nest and the lower perches - so maybe tonight we put the South cam where it shows these higher branches and leave the North cam looking at the nest? Though then we wouldn't be able to check the east and west perches. Hmm - maybe a patrol that mostly looks at one place but does a quick check of a couple of others from time to time?

7:00 am
A closer look.
Note for other zoomers - this is close to the preset Res Night Perch, although this adult is a little higher.
7:18 am
Adult doing some calling.
7:25 am
I've added a new preset - Nest and High Perch - I think we would be able to see the top of her head on the west perch to the left of the nest, and the high branches where we see them. If they are in one or the other spot, we can adjust the cam once we know where they are.
And she(?) flew off shortly after I took the s'cap, and as usual, I wasn't fast enough to follow.
I am out of the cams.

Good morning, CC - happy to see you peeking in!

10:33 am
I just heard some calling, and looked up in time to see the two adults fly in to the partly hidden upper perch. I've logged into the South cam to get a closer look.
They flew off at 10:36 am, after both appearing to watch something (not easy to see in the picture, but both their beaks are pointing towards the left).
A Quick Visit (2 min)
You may want to watch the beginning of the video a couple of times. Initially I first noticed an adult flying into view from the left - but then I realized that there was an eagle taking off from somewhere near the distant tree line at the center of the screen before the other one flies into view. The one on the left flies straight up to the perch above the nest, while the one from the back makes a lovely graceful curve while heading for the tree. The cam then zooms in for a close look (and even with no leaves, they are not easy to see in that high perch), then I cropped out a couple of minutes of them just sitting there, and the video ends with something catching their attention and both flying off.

4:47 pm Checked the DVR back to JudyB's last post and aside from the South cam being frozen from 2:07 pm 4:26 pm there is nothing to report. No one came to the nest (North cam.)

Hello SR friends.
1711 - Lani who lives below the Nest sent me photos and video that she just took. One of our Eagles is at the top of the tree of course.

Wow - that's a long ways up! Thank you, Lani and CC - we've suspected for a long time there were eagles perching much higher than we could look.

Just saw what might be eagles flying behind the nest on the South cam, and heard a few calls. I think they may be around.

Logging in on South....
And eventually I found someone on the upper perch on the west side of the nest.

Can you take over, CC? I've logged out of the cam, and it's late enough on the east coast that I'm fading fast.

Re: Surrey Reserve 2021-2022 Observation and Discussion
Thanks, CC! If she goes down to the lower perch beside the nest when you can log in, will you please see how much of her is visible with the new preset? It should be at the bottom of the list for the south cam. Thanks, and g'night!
