2125 - There she is. The SF has been perched near the buildings.

Her mate is protecting her and his territory from up high in the nest tree, while she rests lower on the perch near the building.

It's so very hot. They are mostly still and watching.

ADDED: Both will probably rest here for the night. I'll check back before bed.

Good morning, everyone! :bye 1: nightowl!

Happy that you found where both adults were hiding, CC! I made a new preset for the South cam for where SM was perched - called High_Perch_Nest_Tree - this is from just before he flew off at 4:49 am.

SF left her overnight perch at 4:40 am. From the sounds, she may have gone to the nest.

And while I was looking quickly through the North dvr, I found that someone perched quite close to the cam. :w00t:

Time for my walk - back after lunch.

It took me a moment to figure out what I was seeing, CC - initially just a blurry dark blob, and then the autofocus kicked in and I realized it was a really close look at the feathers on the upper back! :mihihi:

12:26 pm
It was almost 8 am before I got the north cam back to the nest - just checked the dvr, and there haven't been any visits since then.

And then I looked at the South cam - and we have an eagle!

Logging in for a closer look.

I think there are two - that head is a long way from the tail down below!

The eagle lower down is a bit trickier to ID:

Still thinking this is SM, but still tricky.

I've pulled the cam back so we can see both of them.

The upper eagle flew off right after this s'cap; I saw her(?) doing a ps, so thought she might leave.

The lower one is still there, though mostly hidden.

Welp, I'll chime in and agree/guess lol that it's the SF when I'm looking at that beak. They both always look so disheveled from this view :D

1742 - Good afternoon SR friends. It's still extremely warm out there. We won't see any real relief until next week when it drops to the mid 20's (which is still quite warm)

We've still got an Eagle hiding on the lower section of that perch. The dark feathers make me think this is our SM. Just my first thoughts.

Thanks, CC, and keep cool - we did the heat thing last week, and it wasn't a lot of fun. Still hot in Maine, but getting down to 20 at night finally.

I also think it's SM hanging out in the shade of the leaves.

Good night, everyone, and stay safe and cool, people and eagles. :offtobed:

Have a great night Judy :)

It's hard to watch our Eagles struggle like they are right now with this heat. Not sure when they arrived because I've been watching them closely since.

The SF is up higher and I watched her looking at the SM closely. Both are open-mouthed breathing/panting and he was drooling.

1959 - Some vocalizing was going on between them. It sounded squeaky. Not sure what's up, but the SF decided to move up higher in the tree.

ADDED: I was thinking about this when I woke up today and think it was the SF upper and a hot and cranky SM lower - he may have not wanted her close to him due to the heat - I think that's what the odd vocals were about.

Wow.. sorry about that trip on the North Cam - the functions were extremely slippery and not working right. Hopefully, it is just temporary.

Here is a beautiful sleeping Eagle. Is this actually the SF?
