2016 - Good evening SR friends. My long weekend has begun and I feel like this wind is going to get rid of our unseasonably low temps and bring in a warm and beautiful weekend.
The wind is out of this world in Surrey and Delta still but it has calmed east of that.
I hear our Eagles calling. I'm logging in to the south cam to look around.

2021 - I found an adult Eagle on the hidden perch. I"m going to guess that the NM and NF are up there due to the vocals. The NM complains sometimes when the NF joins him. He's matured a lot since we met him in November but I think the NF likes him more than he likes her. Just a guess from this Eagle novice. What I learned for sure is they both like the nest and territory more than they like each other. Judy wrote about that before and it rings true watching this pair. I know they will get more familiar and comfortable with each other as they bond. I'm really excited to watch that growth.

2050 - I stepped away to make a bite to eat and we had a crash landing of sorts into the nest. I had to watch twice - did the wind do that?
They moved a stick (not far) and dug a bit in the bowl before flying northwest towards the fir trees just over a minute later. Very quick visit
2115 - I don't see anyone on the hidden perch now

2133 - The wind rages on. I would think our Eagles are going to sleep in the conifers unless they want to blow away in their sleep
This wind won't be here in the morning and hopefully, our Eagles will resume their important nest work.
I'm off for the night.

Good morning, everyone!
Looks as if there was at least one early morning visit - will check on details in a few minutes.

8:43 am
Finally checking the dvr, and it looks as if they took your advice, CC - I didn't see anyone come into the nest until the early morning when the wind seemed a bit more gentle.
From the dvr - adult lands on the nest at 4:48 am - maybe NF as there seems to be some shading on the tail.
She moves a couple of little things around on the nest and does a bit of preening.
She (?) moved out to the east perch at 4:54, and flew off from there a moment later.
It's now 8:52 am, and I didn't see any other visits to the nest. I didn't try checking the South cam - with so many leaves, it's hard to see what's there - and usually they do come to the nest first.

0907 - Good morning Judy and SR friends. I guess I was wrong about the wind and that it would be gone this morning. It is much gentler like you said, Judy.
I am following the sun today so I will be out in the Boundary Bay area, then White Rock and Surrey Reserve area snooping around. I'm curious about how the Delta2 nest is holding up with all this wind.
Maybe I'll see our pair bringing sticks and materials back to the nest. I'll report anything of interest I see from the ground.

10:14 am
Just did a quick check of the dvr, and didn't see any visits until about 10:04 am - was sort of watching then but also trying to finish a post on another nest, so I'll need to rewatch to see what happened.
An adult landed on the nest and did some calling at 10:05 am; I really need to learn how to tell gender by calls.
I heard a second eagle calling soon afterwards so logged in quickly to check the hidden upper perch, and it may not be obvious, but there is an adult there.
At 10:09 am, the adult in the hidden perch over the nest flies out and circles around to head to the nest; the adult on the nest takes off in a hurry.

A couple of additional pictures of the one who was on the nest - I thought it was one of the resident pair, so didn't try for any close-ups.
Definitely a full adult, though possibly young as there could be some shading.
I think the one who arrived to chase her(?) off was NF.
She flew off at 10:14 am.
It's now 10:40 am, and I haven't seen any additional activity.
Enjoy your day, CC - and we'll look forward to any updates!

2:37 pm
I heard at least one eagle calling and logged into the South cam and went to check the hidden upper perch - not easy to see in a s'cap, but there is definitely at least one adult there, and might be two.
I'm busy with other things, so I'm going to put the cam back to a wider view and then do a quick check of the dvr. Just saw a couple of crows around 14:42, pestering the adult (who may well have done something to deserve the attention). I still haven't seen anything to confirm that there's a second adult there, but it's also nearly impossible to be sure there isn't - I can't see the one I know is there more than half of the time.
Added -
It's now 2:48 pm; I've checked the dvr back to my previous post and didn't see any visits to the nest, though I might have missed a quick in and out.
Added -
5:52 pm = another quick check of the dvr and again I didn't see any visits.
Good night, everyone!

Good morning SR friends and Night Owl
Apologies for not checking in last night - long day
0503 - We had Eagles in the nest. I"m going to check the DVR because we also had a visit last night, and I'll report on that first.

From last night
2105 - One of our Eagles lands in the nest and starts digging and moves a nice big piece of moss.
Some standing and looking
S/he's got some fuzzy beak bling
