Out on the east perch.

Or maybe the west perch - need to take another look.

Sorry - I'm directionally challenged - the South cam is looking towards the north (more or less) so the eagle is on the west perch.

Here's the view from the North cam, peeking around one of the trunks.

I need to step away from the computer. I've put the North cam back on the nest, and put the South cam back on the wide view that shows the nest, the upper perch on the right and the distant perch.

Other zoomers - please feel free to move the cam so you can see more of the eagle, or whatever.

Have a good evening, everyone!

From the dvr, the adult flew off from the west perch at 7:21 am.

I did not see any other activity, though I could easily have missed a quick visit to the upper perch.

It looks as if this will be a lovely day in BC - nice to see the sun!

Good morning SR friends. The sun is out in Surrey and the Fraser Valley and meltdown is happening finally! We're expecting floods now of course but the sunshine is a welcome reprieve for now (; It will be nice to see our beautiful Eagles dry and steady on the nest.

I checked the DVR and did not see any visits since Judy's last update.

I'll try and get back to do some zooming later this afternoon before sundown.

Good to see you back online, CC - and stay safe, everyone!

1:35 pm
I happened to be watching a couple of minutes ago and saw something interesting. A large bird was casually flying through the Surrey Reserve territory, when an eagle (likely one of the new pair that may be forming here) comes barrelling up from somewhere in the trees to make sure the other bird keeps on going.

:vid: Surrey Reserve Eagle Shows Visitor the Door (11 seconds)

A couple of stills from the video (which was cropped from full screen):

I took a quick look back on the North cam dvr and didn't see any visits.

Added - I probably should have circled the birds in the s'caps - but if you watch the (very brief) video and click the s'caps to make them larger, I think you'll see both of them. It might have been the angle, but it looked to me as if the eagle who came out of the trees was gaining on the other eagle!

I see you there Judy. I only have time to zoom but can take some scaps later at home. It looks like there was another food fight and they are eating in separate corners, haha

Just came to the computer and see one adult on the nest eating, and another up on one of the branches eating.

Not sure who is who.

Thanks for zooming! I have to admit that this maybe-pair's habit of each arriving with their own food and eating as fast as possible is not something I remember seeing before!

Do you have a sense of which is which?

Both are on the nest, which should help us compare size.

One is out on the west perch, at 5:11 pm.

And the other one flew off at 5:13 pm.

I think it was the New Male up high but I'll have to rewatch to be sure. He's being a pest I can see.

Based on first impression of size and shape, I tend to agree. But will try to take a closer look.

And the one on the west perch flew off at 5:15 pm.
