Good morning SR, and thanks for starting our day here Nightowl
I checked both streams and did not see any Eagle activity.

12:02 pm in rollback, a gray squirrel finds what looks like something to eat. Carries it around the nest and moves off to the bottom of the nest.
“Eagles: When they walk, they stumble. They are not what one would call graceful. They were not designed to walk. They fly. And when they fly, oh, how they fly, so free, so graceful. They see from the sky what we never see.” – Unknown

12:05 pm in rollback, the squirrel is back in the middle of the nest picking up something else to chew on. It then left the nest.

12:17 pm in rollback, back again and this time picks up a small stick and carries it off the nest.

12:26 pm in rollback, the squirrel is now interested in that piece of bark in the nest. Doesn't stay long though.

Re: Surrey Reserve 2021-2022 Observation and Discussion
Good afternoon SR. I checked back to Sandy's last update but did not see or hear any Eagle activity. Good to see that our squirrels are making good use of the nest while the raptor residents are away.
Speaking of which, I continue to heavily watch the skies and nests I monitor or am familiar with around the Fraser Valley, and they do seem to be trickling back, albeit slowly. October 2022's temperatures are more than 10 degrees higher than this time last year... and we've had no rain for 3 months. The water levels are very low, which is sad for the salmon but possibly good for the Eagles. No Eagles in Alaska according to a friend who just returned. Also.. the Turkey Vultures are still kettling around Sumas and Chilliwack Mountain, instead of migrating south. More strange weather occurrences should be no surprise I guess.

Thanks for the report CC! Definitely a strange year with our weather! Lets hope the rains come soon (never thought I'd say that) and that the rivers flow heavily with salmon. Our eagles would definitley want to see that.CC398 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 3:21 pmGood afternoon SR. I checked back to Sandy's last update but did not see or hear any Eagle activity. You'll never hear me say it Jean, but yes, please let it rain.
I'm just zooming around and can't determine if the sky is dark and gloomy or if our cameras really need cleaning.
Also, I don't remember these buildings behind the trees. Anyone else?
