I was too busy trying to zoom to take notes - all I know is that the one that I suspect is the female has left the slanted branch and is now not that far from the place where Sur and Res used to perch at night near the buildings.
The slanted branch is on the upper left and I think the little perch is on the lower left, and you can see the light from the south cam at the upper right.
The one I think is the male flew off, I think in pursuit of someone, but I don't know that for sure as I didn't see another eagle or anything else, but they were both looking as if they saw something.
5:28 pm
I've zoomed the north cam in a bit, though the fog is doing a good job of providing privacy.
South cam is looking at the nest and upper branches.

I'm going to log out of both cams and try to get video from the time the two were together on the nest since that was a fairly active time. I won't be able to watch while I'm doing that - will check back later.

Good evening Judy and SR friends. I see we have 1 Eagle asleep with their head tucked.
I have found that watching Eagles in Nature is the best and most addictive show on Earth - CC

I grabbed some of the video and will try to post something tomorrow. The eagles were very loud at about 4:46, especially on the North cam - please be careful of your ears when you check the dvr.
Here are a few pictures; all click quite a bit bigger.
The one who was on the little perch went to the slanted branch and is the one in the second s'cap, then the one on the nest went to the little branch and that's the 3rd pic.

A few pictures from North.
The third one is the one who was on the little perch after the other one went up to the slanted branch.

I don't have video for the rest of this -
The one on the little perch at about 17:04 pm, then flew off at 17:06.
There was someone in the upper branches a minute later - likely the same eagle.
He (?) flew off at 17:08; I didn't hear any calling.
The other adult stayed on the slanted branch until 17:13, when she flew to the branch near the buildings where she seems to be spending the night (cropped for privacy).
Have a good evening, everyone!

Good morning, everyone; nightowl!
Fog alert again this morning, but it looks as if there may be some sun tomorrow.
5:40 am
The adult is still sleeping on the same branch. I took a quick look at the upper branches and the south cam tree perches and didn't see anyone else, though the other adult may be higher up in the nest tree than the cam can look.

Re: Surrey Reserve 2021-2022 Observation and Discussion
I'm getting ready to process and load three videos from the visit late yesterday afternoon, mostly because we're getting to know this new potential pair (at least I think these are the two eagles we've been seeing for the past few weeks), and there are some interactions and some closeups that may help us tell who is who.
Description for YouTube:
Getting Acquainted at Surrey Reserve - Part x of 3
January 26 2022 - we are still getting acquainted with the eagles who appear to be adopting the Surrey Reserve bald eagle cam nest - the male has been in the area for a couple of months but the female has only been here since the first of the year. There's been a young almost-adult in the area, at the awkward age where he or maybe she might be thinking of settling down like a young adult - or looking for food to scavenge. Either way, the adults aren't thrilled and there are a few cameo appearances by an eagle at a distance who might be that sub-adult. This is one of three videos of the eagles, focusing on interactions and closeups as we look for ways to tell these two large eagles apart. If you have suggestions, we'd love to have you join us on our forum - viewtopic.php?f=114&t=584&start=1860#p535963 - and you can watch the cams live at https://hancockwildlife.org/surrey-reserve-cams/ ~JudyB
Part 1 is from the South/side-view cam and starts with one coming to the nest and some flying around in the background, then skips ahead a few minutes to the joint visit.
Part 2 is from the North/overhead cam and starts with ear-piercing calls from both adults, then has some closeups once they settle down.
Part 3 is back to the South cam and more closeups.
All three have been edited to remove the moments when not much was happening.
Part 1 - South (7:32)
Part 2 - North (10:01)
Part 3 - South (6:10)

The adult who spent the night is calling - at least I think it's her(?). She'd stopped by the time I logged into the cams. I checked the upper branches of the nest tree and didn't see anyone there, and also pulled the North cam back a bit to show a bit of the south cam tree (the IR light is still to bright to show more).
It's now 6:21 and all is quiet, and dark, and foggy. The adult is still on the same perch.

It figures that they decided to show up at the nest while I was out on my walk.
I'm on South, and have zoomed in on them.
That may be the female in back. And whoever it is, they just went out onto the east perch.
And I totally forgot to move the North cam - here's the one who's still in the nest.

They both flew off at 7:27 am, the one in the nest first, the other one a second or two later. This is just before they left.
The one on the upper nest showing upper tail.
That one appeared to be heading towards the upper right corner of the screen; a moment later I saw another eagle coming in from the left to circle around and head in the same general direction.
No calling - I think they just decided it was time to move to a different perch.

From the dvr....
There was some calling at 6:51, and the one who was on the perch turned around to look towards the nest.
She(?) flew down and to the left at 6:52, and a moment later, someone came flying down from the upper right, headed in the same general direction.
And they landed in the nest, one after the other - cropped from full screen at 6:52 am.
They poked around in the nest a bit, then one of the went up to the little perch at 6:54, and there was some calling, then the other one moved over to the west side of the nest at 6:55, the one from the perch hopped to the nest, and the one on the west edge went out to the west perch. No pictures because the cam was pulled way back, so not much too see.
The one in the nest went back to the little perch at 6:57 am; the other one was still on the west perch. They stayed that way until 7:09 am when the one on the perch (I think) did some calling, and then flew to the nest; the one from the west perch came into the nest a moment later. They did some poking around, occasionally bumping each other, and I arrived at 7:12 and zoomed in, just before one of them went out to the east perch - which brings us to the part of the visit I posted first.
It's now 8:06 am and I haven't seen any activity. I'm going to step away from the computer for a few minutes, then go back to getting videos ready to upload.

I've posted my videos from yesterday evening here - viewtopic.php?f=114&t=584&p=536105#p536105 - please be careful of the very loud calls at the start of the second one.
I also checked the dvr for both cams quickly back to my previous post and didn't see any activity, though both cams are currently showing a wide view and it would be easy to miss a quick visit. And it's foggy.
