Pretty boring night aside for some calls here and there.

I'm off for the night then. :bye 1:

0800 - Good morning SR friends. All quiet on the nest so far today. I did not see anything on the rollback. :bye 1:

ADDED: someone showed up just after my post. They poked around the nest a bit and then flew at 0814

0945 - Someone is in the Nest but I don't know who. I don't recognize the back feathers. No frayed feather like the New Male hass and nothing light or wonky like the New Female had yesterday. There was some calling when this Eagle landed. Unfortunately, I have to get ready for a meeting and cannot stick around.

I'm leaning towards the New Female as opposed to a third Eagle

Still not seeing any frays or wonky feathers like our pair has. But maybe like Judy said, the New Female had a feather that needed preening. Maybe I see a lighter feather? I think I see that lighter feather :w00t:

Someone is calling from elsewhere, while the one on the nest is chattering back it seems.

Good afternoon, everyone!
20220123_003.jpg

Nice captures of the eagle on the nest, CC! I went back and watched part of the visit to the nest, and I'm thinking this is the new male.

The eyes are dark enough.
20220126_002.jpg

He did some calling, and around 9:56 am there was a second eagle calling, and he sounded shriller - and males have a higher pitched voice, with some calls that are a bit like a squeaky barn door hinge - and I'm not good at using the voice to confirm or at least make an educated guess as to gender, but this one was shriller and there were some barn door moments.
20220126_004.jpg

And the third one is a bit weird, but at some point recently, I noticed that the back corner of the beak sometimes looks sort a little dark as if he was using the eye liner there as well as on the eyes - and I see a bit of that here.

Continuing from the dvr....

The adult flew out of the nest at 10:12 am.
20220126_008.jpg

It looked as if he (?) may have headed up to the little perch, but no one was in the tree when the cam checked the upper branches around 10:30 am.

I checked the dvr for both cams and didn't see anyone, but could easily have missed a quick visit, or someone perched in the foggy background.

1:33 pm

When I first came to the computer at 12:51 pm, I saw an eagle perch at the top of the evergreen in the distance to the right of the south cam tree:
20220126_001.jpg

They flew off before I could log in to take a closer look, so I went back a bit, and there was a minute or so with a lot of coming and going.

Added -
I have a suspicion that the sub-adult may still be in the area; it looked as if an eagle flew across from the left and disappeared off the right side of the screen, then another one flew in from the left and headed towards the upper part of the nest tree (or something in that general direction), then someone flew from that area to the top of the evergreen in the distance at 12:51 am
20220126_012.jpg

The eagle perched briefly, then prepared to leave as someone else was coming in from the right (I circled them because they're not easy to see without the motion in the video (coming soon).
20220126_013.jpg

And I just realized that if I look closely, I can see them chasing each other as they head off to the left towards the end of the video.

I hear calling at 1:36

Logging in

Someone called and then flew to the hidden upper perch.

1:39 pm
I took a quick look at the nest and at the high branches we can see, and didn't see anyone else around.

I'm going to move the North cam to the nest for now while I'm zoomed in - no I'm not. I think there are two eagles up there - I'm going to check the dvr to see when the other one arrived.
20220126_010.jpg

They came in one after the other at 1:36 pm.
20220126_011.jpg

And one of them flew off at 1:45 pm; the other is still there at 1:51; I've logged out of the cam and am away from the computer for a few minutes.

The adult on the hidden perch flew off at 2:40 pm; I did a quick look around and didn't see anyone.

I'm leaving the South cam looking at the nest and higher branches, and moved the North cam so it's looking at the South cam tree and the evergreen further back where we sometimes see someone.

I am out of both cams.

I added some additional s'caps and a video to my post from 12:50 pm - viewtopic.php?f=114&t=584&p=535890#p535890

I am away from the computer for a while.

1613 - All quiet on the Nest but look at the very pretty scenery. The days are getting longer already my goodness- I'll be heading home soon to keep watch for the evening.

Thanks, CC - long day, so I don't expect to be online very late this evening. I logged into the North cam quickly to move it over - the sun is actually coming out, so I wanted to make sure the cam didn't stare at it too long.

There are two eagles on the nest - I think our new male and female though I won't swear to it. Both are full adults. I think the female is higher up, on the slanted branch, but I'm not sure. There was a whole lot of calling when they arrived and I was too busy getting cams open to focus on them to figure out if anyone else was nearby - I think someone must have been, but I didn't see anyone, and neither of them did more than call (and both of them did that very loudly).

I'm currently in both cams, and will happily get out when someone else is available - I'm also in the middle of another project - but do want to know what's happening here.

It's now 5:05 pm.
