One picture of SR6 - Tucca; he or she was picking up something, and Tiku was wondering if it might be food (it wasn't).

I'll try to get some more closeups of the younger chick tomorrow.

Good night, everyone.

JudyB,

Wonderful cloesup pictures of Tiku ! Boy they are really looking more like the adult eaglets each day.

I especially love Tiku yoga picture, has that look of meditating in her face and all I can hear in my head is ommmmmmm!! I printed it off to put on my wall where I have all my eagle pictures.

Tucca showing us his beautiful wing spread, how fast he is catching up.

Thank you so much for sharing the pictures and the video.
:rh:
Adding a feeding at 19:22 nest time, looks like Sur in with food. Tiku right up there for feeding, Tucca is little behind Sur thinking its a good place to grab some bites.
Tiku snaps at Tucca to back off.
Sur flew iff at 19:25 , no food for Tucca. Tucca grabs at the nest overs to try feeding himself . Tiku takes nest over from Tucca. Tucca trys to get it back and Tiku snaps at Tucca but he keeps on pulling on the nest over, not giving up. Love the stubborn ness in Tucca.
Both eaglets are feeding on the nest overs on the nest, taking small bites off . :)
Both holding the small prey down with their talons and pulling food bits off.

Another feeding, Res in with looks like a bird . 19:29 Starts feeding. Both Tiku and Tucca go for food. Tiku getting fed, Tucca sqeeing but not grabbing for food yet, holding off a bit.
Tiku feeding, Tucca sqeeing getting closer to try get bites.
both are hungry eaglets
Tucca not in good position for is under the back of Res
Res cant see him
19:35 Tucca starting to reach in and go for bites
Grab and tuck method
Tiku snaps at Tucca into submission
Tucca retreats and turns to try for bites again, grab and tuck
Tucca is sqeeing right by Res not sure why she isn't reaching to feed him, just soon as I said that Res turned to feed Tucca.

Tiku is done, Res moves the bird over, Tucca is front and center now getting fed one on one. Tiku watching now.
Res goes to another nest over and feeds Tucca, and Tiku.
Both getting fed. Good feeding for both. I love the little chattering sounds.

Another blissful day of watching Tiku and Tucca :rh:
Sled's , time for me to call it a nite. :offtobed:

1935 - a feeding of possibly a black bird - both are very hungry, all the bites going to Tiku and it was looking pretty desperate for poor hungry Tucca, and then I observed the adult go out of their way to make sure Tucca got lots and lots of bites by pulling the food away and even blocking the bigger Chick so Tucca could have a large private feeding. Not sure how much they got but well done amazing parent!

That was quite remarkable. I don't think in all my years of watching eagle cams, I have seen a parent blatantly pull food away like that to feed the younger one! I think they both got a good meal and both have been very content since dinner. No sign of ma yet for the night but I am sure she is in the tree somewhere.

0500 to 0513 - an adult arrived and started to offer nestovers. Tiku was up first of course and got most of what was offered, chasing Tucca away. Tucca really only got a handful or two of small bites. There is more food in the nest but the adult had other things on their mind and left. Then Tucca started self feeding and Tiku watched with interest. Tucca might have found a bite or two

By 0521 they joined their resting sibling and played with some nesting material.

Merci for the closups of Tiku and Tucca! Such precious babies. Am I permitted to use a few photos for our announcements? They are only shared in our school :)

0644 - lots of crow chatter and eagle alerting got the chicks up and checking things out. Then the adult arrives 0645 and begins another feeding

0554 - pretty much all the bites still going to Tiku

Then the adult did it again! they moved back, grabbed nestover Gull and started feeding Tucca where Tiku could not easily interfere. Not a lot of food on that gull for Tucca. Lots of flesh left on that black bird tho? I don't know why that wasn't being offered? :dunno:

The adult got distracted so Tucca grabbed a bloody bone and started picking at it. The adult flew. Tucca is absolutely NOT satisfied. Food in the nest tho.
