On April 15 the bigger of the two chicks climbed out of the nest hole to explore, so cute to see flopping around. awhile later the other one ventured out as well. Soon after they were scopped back in by one of the parents and tucked in tooo cute.

Sur brings a fish on!

But, #6 gets in a few bites before #5 re-asserts control of the situation.

3:30 am Checking the thumbnails on theDVR after the feed JudyB reported on, Mom brooded her chicks until she left at 6:31. Dad arrived at 6:40 and picked up the furry food item at the back of the nest and started another feed at 6:41 pm - which I didn't watch.

Good morning, everyone, and thanks for your posts, gemini and Bev.

7:15 am
SR5 is two weeks old today - happy hatch day! SR6 is 13 days old.

You can see more of the second down coming in on SR5 now.

I guess it makes sense that the birthday bird should be fed first....
20210417_005.jpg

Of course the "friendly" wing over SR6's shoulders does make it harder for the younger eaglet to pop up for food - but I'm sure that wasn't intentional. :%:

7:24 am
SR6 looks as if s/he is thinking of getting up but is trouble doing that - can't tell if heavier SR5 is still holding the smaller chick down somewhat.

7:29 am
SR6 is showing more interest.
