Kids not interested in what she had to offer, Mom left at 7:04 pm

Dad flew in 10 minutes later - he didn't have any food with him either. Neither parent seems to be having much luck though not for the lack of trying I suspect..

Dad tried his talon at feeding as well - with no luck

Getting tucked in. It's extremely windy at the nest.

They are getting so big already, they sure seem to be so gentle compared to other chicks previously. They wait patiently for their turn to feed. Wonder what will happen with that last egg.

Thanks for your post Lynda - and it's actually our Delta 2 nest that has an unhatched egg (it is hard keeping them all straight!) - and I think last year the egg just disappeared into the nesting material and became part of the nest, though we'll have to wait and see what happens this year.

And thanks for checking in this morning, Marg!

Checking the dvr....

5:37 am
Already very windy. Res called a couple of times, then backed over to the edge of the nest and flew off.

5:47 pm
Adult arrives on the nest - I think Sur, though it's hard to tell when the cam is in grayscale.

He moves over beside the chicks and settles down; both are beside him, but it's apparently warm enough that they don't try to get under. The cam switched to color around 6 am, but the adult was looking away from the cam most of the time (probably because of the wind) - still not sure who it is.

7:09 am
The other adult arrives - with more of that heavy straw or whatever that came in yesterday.
20210419_011.jpg

And as the adult who has been on the nest (on the right) gets up to leave, I can finally confirm that it is Sur.

7:12 am
Res was looking for some food to feed the chicks, when she suddenly called out and flew off the nest. Sur arrived a moment later, also calling - and I think with food.
20210419_015.jpg

After a couple of minutes, he began feeding the eaglets.
20210419_016.jpg

SR5 was getting more initially, but by 7:28 am, the bigger chick was asleep, and SR6 was getting some food.
20210419_017.jpg

The feeding was over by 7:30, and Sur settled down beside his chicks.

8:12 am
Res arrived - with a small stick (sorry - no picture of that - but here's a family portrait of the backs of their heads - Res is on the left).
20210419_018.jpg

Sur flew off, and Res offered some leftovers. SR5 was up first.
20210419_019.jpg

And then SR6 joined in for a few bites.
20210419_020.jpg

They both got quite a few bites. It looked as if whatever was being fed was a bit tough, so it was a fairly slow feeding, but it lasted until about 8:25, when neither chick seemed that interested in the food.

Res settled down with the chicks a few minutes later.

Continuing from the dvr....

Res flew off at 9:08 am. The chicks slept on the nest until 9:32 am, when Sur (I think) arrived. He went to one of the leftover food objects and pulled off a piece. One of the chicks was up (I think SR5), but didn't seem very interested.
20210419_021.jpg

SR6 definitely got some bites
20210419_022.jpg

And so did SR5, though I think the older chick was less interested.
20210419_023.jpg

The feeding continued until around 9:56 am, and then Sur sat beside the chicks until around 11 am.

Continuing from the dvr....

This was from 10:36 - SR6 was trying to stand up as tall as SR5, but couldn't quite do it.
20210419_002.jpg

11:00 am
Sur was doing some calling.

Continuing from the dvr....

11:11 am
Res is feeding, and both chicks are getting some. SR6 is in front.
20210419_024.jpg

The chicks unfortunately haven't both held their wings out for a comparison while I've been watching - but SR5's wings are quite a bit bigger. SR5 is 16 days old, and SR6 is 15 days old.
20210419_025.jpg

They look so peaceful when they sleep.
20210419_026.jpg

Res moved behind them to snuggle in at 11:20 am.

Continuing....

12:02 pm
Res moved over to the leftover pile and began to dig out some more bites. SR5 was there first.
20210419_027.jpg

12:06 pm
SR6 is aware there's a feeding, but hasn't gotten up to join yet.
20210419_028.jpg

12:11 pm
I think the older chick is getting full - and the younger is now getting most of the bites.
