12:30 am Checked the DVR back to 12:15 pm and there were no visitors or eagles perching in the left tree that I could see.
Re: Surrey Reserve 2020-2021 Observation and Discussion
Good morning, everyone!
Tiku was 16 weeks old yesterday and has been flying for 31 days
Tucca is 16 weeks old today and has been flying for 29 days
Last time both fledglings were seen together was July 14 at 5:30 am (14-1/2 weeks old)
Last sighting of one fledgling was July 19 at 8:01 am (Tucca - 106 days old, just over 15 weeks)
Looking back to last year, July 19 was the last time we saw older eaglet Thor at the nest (she was 15 weeks old that day), and younger eaglet Loki (who has a tracker) started heading North on the 19th or maybe the 20th (she was 15 weeks old on the 20th). By July 25, Loki had been exploring the Bella Coola River (448 kilometers/279 miles north of Surrey) for several days - and I expect that Thor was either there as well, or at one of the other early salmon spawning locations. (Loki's travels)
And I think that Tiku and Tucca are somewhere like that now, following the older eagles (and their instincts) to find the best places for food.
Today is the last day I'm planning to post Tiku and Tucca's ages; you can find their hatch dates and other significant dates in the opening posts, and we will be updating those to include additional visits from the adults, who are likely to be around until mid August (last year they left for their summer/fall break on August 14 and returned in late September).
20-25-14C = 68-77-57F
It's now 9:28 am. I checked the dvr back to gemini's post, and did not see any activity.

2:00 pm
I just checked the dvr and did not see any visits.
I'm going to log into the South cam briefly.
2:10 pm
I did not see any eagles, though I suspect Sur and Res are somewhere nearby.
I am out of the cams.
Added -
6:23 pm
Surrey South embedded cam is frozen at 4:50 pm; I've sent a message to Ken.
I took a quick look at the dvr on North, and didn't notice any activity.
Good night, everyone!

Good morning SR friends! I'm missing our Eagles and not ready to say goodbye for the season at all, nope... I'll jump on the cams and take a quick peek around for our beloved friends.
No sign of any Eagle out there.
Tiku and Tucca, may you stay safe, fly high and always have full crops.

I have found that watching Eagles in Nature is the best and most addictive show on Earth - CC

Good morning, everyone!

I saw a squirrel for a few seconds - didn't get a s'cap. And I checked the dvr back to gemini's post and did not see any activity. I'm going to log into the cams briefly to take a look around.
I am logged out of the cams
I did not see anyone - which really doesn't surprise me. I do think the adults are still in the area, but they may be taking little day trips or going off for a couple of days to places where food may be easier to get than it is near the nest.
And they might have left. They did everything else earlier this year - but only by a few days, and last year they were checking in occasionally until August 14.
If any of the folks who live near the nest are checking in - are you still seeing them around?
I've moved the North cam to look towards the water - this view is pulled back a bit from the preset "Flats to the Left 18x" - and we might see one of the adults - or a neighbor - flying by.
Other zoomers - please feel free to move the cam - and if anyone has a place they're rather have on cam, please let me know. I can also set up a patrol that could do something like check here for a few minutes, check the place they both perched a few days ago for a few minutes, take a closer look at the distant perch on the far left - or anywhere of interest.
