Continuing....

1:16 pm
Thor was working on her fish when she paused and began calling.

A moment later, and adult landed with a delivery.

The adult was there less than 10 seconds - and I recognized Sur's tail as he left. Thor showed off h/h prize - I think a midshipman.

Continuing....

The midshipman was gone by 1:30; I think part of the tougher earlier fish is still on the nest - it looks sort of like a fish in the middle. And Thor is working on the squirrel again now, or at least hopping around with it.

Thor flew off at 1:34 pm.

As reported above, Res arrived on the nest at 1:40 pm and I think she was carrying something, though I'm still not sure what. She seemed to be eating whatever was around - and finally flew off at 2:03 pm.

It's now 2:23 pm, and I haven't seen any visits since then.

Welcome, Aigle Armour! David Hancock wasn't able to get out to OWL to check on Loki today, but is hoping to do that tomorrow morning. Keeping fingers crossed.

One of the adults was on the nest defeathering something at 5:18 pm while Thor was screeping in the background (and eventually flew in around 5:20 pm).

I'm sorry, but it's later here on the east coast and I need to call it a day. Whatever it is, it's more food (and more practice in food prep) for Thor - and I must say goodnight.

Keeping fingers and toes crossed for good news about Loki tomorrow (though it may be a few more days before s/he can get a clean bill of health if all goes well).

7:13 pm And yet another visit by an adult (I think Dad?) followed by Thor a few minutes later. Both arrive from a bit of a different direction! They both had a go at the remains of the squirrel!

:vid: Dad? tackles the squirrel again - Thor tries too! (3:29) North and South Cams

And a late night visit by Sur? (having trouble ID'ing the adults tonight any corrections welcome!

9:15 pm Dad flew in with a messy meal (placenta) and for once he is left in peace to eat all himself without interruption! Thor must have had his fill earlier!

1:50 am I think that's it for visits this evening - at least that I could see! Nest is empty.

Good afternoon, everyone!

Off topic - eaglet Quebec returned to the White Rock nest at 9:16 am today!! :woohoo: S/he is the one who flew/jumped off the nest at 3:07 am on July 2nd and there hadn't been a confirmed sighting of h/h since then.

On topic, David Hancock is hoping to get to OWL today - I'll post an update on Loki as soon as I hear anything.

And I forgot to wish Loki a happy hatch day - s/h was 13 weeks old yesterday.

Thanks for your posts, Bev and gemini. I'll take a look at the video and play guess the adult later - it is getting hard to tell now that they leave so quickly after dropping off food.

Nest is empty at 12:08 pm.

Off to check the dvr.

From the dvr....

5:22 am
Thor arrives at the nest and does some serious screeping; s/he flew in from the general direction of the west perch, which is not an approach I've noticed before.
20200707_001.jpg

No adult appeared; Thor did a bit of looking for leftovers, moved a stick, and then flew off at 5:29 am.

An adult arrived with something red and messy at 6:10 am.
20200707_002.jpg

Thor arrived a few seconds later, and the adult left in a hurry (Thor is flying in from the center top).
20200707_003.jpg

I think this was Sur, though it's an educated guess at best.

Continuing....

Thor flew up to the upper perch/branch in the trunk around 6:20 and did a bit of calling, then took off from there at 6:21 pm; the ?seal placenta? was pretty much gone at that point.

At 6:28 am, Thor flew into a branch on the upper left
20200707_004.jpg

And stayed there about 5 minutes, hidden part of the time (you can see some black under the first 20 in 2020).
20200707_005.jpg

And then s/h flew to the more open perch where we had seen Sur recently.

Thor stayed there until around 6:42,
20200707_007.jpg

then flew down to the nest, and was there until around 6:54 when s/he flew off.

I need to step away for a few minutes.
