1:30 am Checking back on the DVR - It appears Res was on egg duty all afternoon - at least I couldn't find another nest exchange between the 1:16 pm exchange and the one I caught at 6:23 pm - it was a long shift and she was ready for her break by the time Sur finally arrived.

:vid: Res is ready for a break!

Res came back at 7:51 pm - Sur wasn't in a hurry to leave! Had to shift to the South cam as the North cam was pixelating and didn't record very well.

:vid: Sur not in a hurry to give up egg duty!

2:28 am A quick peek finds Res sound asleep

Good morning, everyone!

Thanks for the videos, gemini, and for the weather and morning report, Bev. I'm rebooting North now.

I did a quick check of the dvr from overnight, and caught Res in this odd-looking position:
20200319_001.jpg

I guess it must be more comfortable than it looks as she was sleeping that way for quite a while.

More recently, Res was up and off at 7:24 am
20200319_002.jpg

And I didn't notice any black on the upper tail when someone arrived less than a minute later - and once she'd settled in - I realized it was Res! So not a switch, just a brief break.

Res tries again.

And this time Sur arrives less than a minute later to take over.

I think his eye is looking better this morning - I'm going to try to zoom in on North for a closer look.

Definitely looking better, and North embedded cam cooperated while I was looking at him so I could get some larger pictures.

North is looking a bit choppy now - I'll give it a few minutes than reboot if necessary.

By the way, I've moved South in a bit closer - I think we could still see the tail of someone on the perch beside the nest though not enough for ID - but we do have a better look at whoever is on the nest. Does this work for others? Suggestions? I've started labeling the presets with the amount of zoom rather than close - even closer - less close - hopefully that will make it easier to know which ones are more closer - if you know what I mean.

1:00 am checked back on the DVR but only caught two exchanges due to spinning circle

4:59 pm
:vid: Sur in to relieve Res (:49) (Note Sur's newly acquired dirty tail!)

Even though I couldn't see it happen because of the spinning circle, it looks like there was a switch at approx 7:05 pm. Taking scaps at different times at least showed who was on the nest when and an empty nest between marked the approximate time:

6:46 pm Sur's black eye

7:06 pm Res white around eye and upper tail spotless (although it looks like she has a bit of a dirty tail too! Where have these two been!?)

Good morning, everyone!

That spinning circle bit is quite annoying - I could see from the thumbnails on North that the eggs were alone briefly, but can't get the cam to stream where it happened. I'm rebooting North now and hoping to catch the action on South.

And at 6:57 am, Res was up and off - and I think this is Sur arriving a minute later.
20200320_001.jpg

I do have trouble telling them apart in grayscale, but I thought I got a glimpse of the dark spots on the upper tail when he landed, and the right eye looks a bit dark.

It's now 7:25 and I didn't see any other switches - and this looks like Sur's eye to me, happily only a little darker.
20200320_002.jpg

And now that North has finished its reboot cycle, I can add a full-color picture of his dirty tail.

11:57 am
I came back to the computer a few minutes ago to find both adults on the nest - Res had been incubating, and Sur brought her lunch, at 11:49.
20200320_004.jpg

A family portrait.
20200320_005.jpg

I think someone else was interested in the food, but decided not to come closer once both eagles warned them away. Sur left shortly after delivering the meal; Res finished her lunch, and resumed incubation around 12:01 pm.

Looking back (which is still very choppy or jumpy), the nest was empty at 9:48 am and someone arrived at 9:49 am; it took a while to get a good look, but I see white under the right eye, and a bit of a cowlick, so as expected, this was Res.
20200320_007.jpg

I am a bit surprised that she didn't fly off with her food so Sur could take over - but they know what they are doing.

I heard calling and when I brought up the cam window, I saw the eggs alone at 12:22 pm. Sur arrived a minute later to take over incubation.

Sur just jumped up and flew off - not sure why but he was looking up before he went. He was back a minute or so later. Here's a nice look at his upper tail.
20200320_016.jpg

And a bit of a look at his eye and collar.

From the dvr....

4:59 pm
Sur up and off
20200320_018.jpg

5:00 pm
Here is Res, with cowlick
20200320_019.jpg

And it wasn't until I was adding the pictures to my post that I realized how similar their positions were.

North is pixelated, so I'll give it a reboot.

Added -

5:37 pm
Res on duty.

10:45 pm Checking back to JudyB's post - it looks like Sur won't be giving Res her usual evening break before the night shift begins! Their nest exchanges are off their usual schedule with Res on the late afternoon shift instead of Sur!

Hi Gemini, JudyB, Irish Eye, Bill and Nightowl

Pa arrived with some food.
Ma got up but Pa flew off again taking the food with him.
Ma was being vocal about all of it.

Ma is following Pa with her eyes. I wonder if she is so talketive because she is complaining that he took off again. :puzz:

:bye 1: Annemie - good to see you here! Thanks for posting!

9:40 pm Sorry this is so late! Some scaps I grabbed earlier this morning of, as far as I could make out from the DVR, the first exchange of the day!

9:54 AM Res still on duty
3-21-2020 9-54 am.jpg

10:00 11 am
3-21-2020 10-11 am.jpg

10:14 am Sur in to relieve Mom
3-21-2020 10-11-59 am.jpg

12:11 pm Nest exchange (Res was only gone a couple of hours - IMO, after her long shift last night she deserved a longer break!) Eggs were alone for about 3 minutes but it is a nice day so should be okay!

:vid: Res in to cover her eggs (:48)

2:50 pm Another COTG!!

:vid: Sur brings home a massive bundle of nest improvement materials] (1:20)

4:51 pm Sur leaves the nest for a bit - he was gone about 10 minutes; however, I heard what sounded like someone landing close by and then some calls from an eagle a few minutes before he left (pretty sure it was Res because Sur didn't react other than to look in the direction of the calling) so I don't believe the nest was unattended. (Humanizing here but I think she was telling Sur she didn't want to take over at the moment so he should take a break!) 5:01 pm - Sur comes back and continues incubating!

:vid: Sur's extended break (1:09 )
