continuing....

At 7:13 am, an adult arrived in the nest with some sort of messy food - and no one came! Dee was calling big time, and Ess looked as if she wanted to go down but couldn't get past Dee. After almost 2 minutes, the adult took a bite of the food. (This may be a longer video that I expected....)

After 5 minutes, Dee jumped down and mantled the food.

A moment later, Ess flew down - and the adult took off!

I'm not sure which adult this is - my impression is Sur - and if so, his leg is better. He picked it up and bent it and stretched it a couple of times, but he also seemed to stand on it while quickly moving the other leg. Maybe I will process the whole 5-1/2 minute video - or maybe not - he does some nice moves with both legs as Dee is flying down towards him.

some sort of video coming....

continuing....

I'm not sure who got what. My best guess is that Dee got some initially, and then Ess popped her head under the mantle and dragged some of the goopy thing out, and Ess also got some. This is Dee mantling and appearing to be eating, but Ess is clearly eating as well.

By 7:25 am it looked as if they were looking for scraps, and Ess was back up on the perch by 7:31 am.

And at 7:57 am, both eaglets were back on the perch when Res arrived! She immediately started working on the food she delivered, and as she showed off her food, the eaglets were a bit quicker getting down. Dee was down first and grabbed the item, then Ess did a lovely flight to the far side of the nest. After a few moments, Res flew up to the little perch. The eaglets were doing their "get off my nest" call - and then Ess charged Mom, and Mom flew off. Definitely interesting to see, and I'm glad I was still recording when that happened.

Ess's flight across the nest.

I think Dee got most of the food, though I'm not sure about that.

It's now 8:55 am, and Ess is on the perch and Dee is sleeping in the nest, and North cam is pixelating, so I'll do another reboot.

Back in a while to add videos.

Good morning Everyone :) and ty nightowl for the weather forecast. Lovely pictures posted gemini and Judy, so sorry you lost your post gemini. It's really getting harder to imagine those two as chicks, :chin: When both re sitting atop the tree the look so beautiful! Its almost looked to me like Ess may have dropped her food when she went over to the edge of the nest with it. Poor mama, getting chased from the nest...lol.

It's a beautiful day here in B.C. this morning. :D

10:59 another delivery of a flounder by the looks of it.. fairly large one to boot. Can't make out who brought it, it was quick.
Looks like Dee got this one.
Ess is sitting on the edge f the nest.
Approx, 11:12 Ess took over, I don't really think they like the flounders much.

Added: Ess was patient and got a full meal of Flounder..she really worked for it..lol. ;)

Checking back, I found a delivery at 10:59 am. I think it was Sur - looked like a black spot on the tail - and he brought a fish, but not one I've seen here before. This is the best picture I got - it looks white with a black and white striped fin (or something - I don't know much about fish).

This is why I think it's Sur - and he seemed to be using both legs. :thumlft:
20190630_014.jpg

Dee (on the left) got it - and of course Ess is interested.

There is a video coming - maybe this evening, or else tomorrow. The view from the South cam continues a bit after Sur left - I was hoping Dee would hold up the fish, but that didn't happen.

This is from 11:10 - I think Dee is not having a lot of luck getting into the fish, and Ess would like to help.
20190630_016.jpg

The fish actually flapped a bit, and Ess stepped on the tail - and then grabbed it and pulled.

And Ess got it away!

Ess did some hopping around the nest holding it, and then began to work. As of 11:45 am, she seemed to be making progress.

And I need to get ready to go out for a few hours, so I'll leave this here. Bye!

Hi Judy, you are right as it not being a fish we have seen before, I went to identify your fish in B.C. and there is nothing fresh water or salt that I can see resembling that fish? It is a flounder by the way it is flat on one side but I don't see black stripes on the one they show in the pictures? To me, it looks like something that we would find in warmer waters. I'm goi g to go look again and see if I can find one resembling that. I will be back.

Good morning, everyone! I'm afraid I may not be online much today either - all's well, just busy.

Dee was 11 weeks old yesterday, and Ess is 11 weeks old today, so they could fly at any point, though I expect them to spend more time exploring the upper branches in the tree before they do that.

I started to take a quick look back and found something interesting, from about 1:30 in the morning:
20190701_001.jpg

It looks as if she was on the nest with them around 10:15 pm, I think with some food, and the eaglet on the left didn't want to be fed - so she went to the little perch. And stayed there.

20190701_002.jpg

She flew off at 4:19 am, as it was beginning to get light.

It's now 7:47 am, and I didn't see any visits this morning, though I was looking quickly.

Adult in with food - I think it's Sur. Looks like a flounder and Dee has it; Ess is still on the perch.

Thank you all for starting the day off here, Judy, take care ok.

Will be away for a while this morning.
