Went back to where Bev left off and at 7:39 Mom came in with tuft of grass which Ess immediately pounced upon. Seeing it was only grass h/s shook it out and dropped it on the nest.

Mom went to the old seagull wing and found a part with some meat on it. Ess got the first bites and after a bit Mom turned around and fed Dee. I think they came out about even. She left at 7:48 with the kids letting her know vocally that they wanted more!

At 8:16, Res arrived back in the nest with a nice big furry rabbit.

Both Ess and Dee ate their fill then Dee retired to the other side of the nest while Ess looked on stealing what he could when the opportunity presented itself.

Ess watching Mom and waiting for h/h opportunity to steal!

It was a nice long feed that ended when Mom hopped to her perch at 8:55, cleaned her beak and left 3 minutes later.

Sur (I think) arrived at 9:18 with yet another partially eaten seagull.
5-31-2019 9-18 pm.jpg

He offered some to the kids but they were slow to come to the table. A full minute later and neither one had moved (Ess took what was offered as long as he didn't have to move) but Dee just wasn't interested even when Dad practically shoved it right in h/h beak!

9:19 pm No takers!
5-31-2019 9-19 pm.jpg

Feed ended when he moved to the perch. There is an eagle still there (3:33 am) and I would have thought it would be Res! So maybe ID'd h/h wrong?

This is the parent currently on the perch - Nope, this is Sur but not him on the perch!! See my post below - had a hunch!

Sure looks like Dad to me! But I am surprised he would spend the night!

Going to check the DVR again to make sure I didn't miss a switch!

That is Sur BUT it's NOT Sur on the perch! There was a 20 second switch - caught it by accident when I was rechecking the DVR! I had a feeling something was off!

I don't really like this 12 hour roll back, too easy to miss something - I went through the DVR several times very slowly and still missed that switch!! - and too hard to get the scap you want!!

Good night! (or should I say good morning!)

Good afternoon, Bev, gemini and all. It's useful for days when none of us are able to watch much - but it's so easy to miss things, especially as the eaglets are starting to self feed so adults don't always stay on the nest for more than a minute or two.

I did a quick check back an saw an adult on the nest at 9 am and again at 1:06 pm. it looked as if the chicks were being fed both times, but my arthritis is especially annoying today, so no pictures or details.

A valiant effort by Ess, I think, (won't guarantee it because once I identify who is who and try to move to a new action they have changed places? and I can't tell which one went where! I am finding it very frustrating trying to follow them.) to feed h/hself.
