0445 - A minor disagreement about who should put their beak where

0447 - the NM usually flies first so we'll assume he did the same here

0450 - she watched a bit and might have found a small bite to eat, before flying southwest

1334/5 - Our Eagles are busy but I cannot stay and watch. There was action before this, but at the time noted, 1 arrived with a stick and the other arrived with a VERY big stick.

I heard some calling and they weren't in the upper hidden perch - and I actually found them where sort of near where one of them was yesterday - if you use the north cam to look at the south cam tree, then pan to the left.

I think the male is on the left, and the female is more hidden on the right.

Male?

Tail of female?

The ID is based mostly on the tail of the one on the right - I'm not really seeing the dark eyes of the male on the one with the head showing, but it's not visible all of the time.

I'll leave the North cam looking at them while I check the dvr.

Added - I discovered there's a preset for this location - it's "perch near buildings" at the bottom of the North cam list.

It's a bit late, but here's the weather for today.
20220524_004.jpg

Checking back to CC's early morning post, I didn't see any additional activity on the nest until 1:11 am, when someone landed on the nest.

She (?) had a bit of dirt on her beak, and then did some additional digging.

Continuing....

The second adult arrived with a little stick at about 1:20. New arrival is on the left and looks like NM to me, so I'm sticking with NF being the first to arrive.
20220524_007.jpg

The did a bit of work with the stick, then quite a bit of standing around.

I've got a video of some of the highlights - here's the arrival of the very big stick that CC described.

And one of my favorite "standing and looking" images.
20220524_009.jpg

The video is about 8 minutes, and has highlights from 1:26 to 1:42 pm - it's really fun to see them working on the nest!

Bonus pic - I also like this one from the beginning of the video.

The eagles left around 1:42, shortly after the video ended. I found them perched by the buildings around 2:37 pm, and they stayed there until 3:29 when NM flew back to the nest, with NF arriving a minute or so later. (The very big stick was still there, at the edge of the nest.)
20220524_011.jpg

They brought more sticks and did more work - and I think it's still going on as NM arrived back at 4 pm, though he left again a few minutes later.
20220524_012.jpg

As you can see - there are even more branches there now. I'm not going to report on that visit - but if you have a few minutes before the dvr moves on, they really are fun to watch.

It's 4:04 pm here, and dinner is almost ready - and this may be NF who just arrived.

I'll try to check back later, but in case I don't get back tonight, have a good evening, everyone!

1:20 am
Quick summary from the dvr....

The adult who arrived at 4:04 stood looking around for a couple of minutes and flew off at 4:08 pm; not sure, but I'm still thinking it's NF.
20220524_020.jpg

One of the adults arrived at 9:18 with a stick - not sure who.
20220524_021.jpg

After positioning it, they stayed on the nest looking around a bit - South cam shows that it's still light out.
20220524_022.jpg

I saw something flash by at 21:25 near the top of the screen - am guessing the other adult as the one on the nest didn't react.
20220524_023.jpg

The one on the nest flew off a minute later at 9:26, headed in the other direction, though maybe planning to circle around.

It's now 1:39 am; I didn't see any additional activity. Took a quick look at the "perch near buildings" preset and didn't see anyone there, though one or both might be hidden by the leaves.

Good morning SR friends. It looks like we had one quick visit this morning.

0515 - Eagle lands in the nest and looks around - thought about doing some digging but nope

0517 - they flew southwest

Good morning, everyone!

(For those who are curious, a "15-minute city" is one in which most people can walk to a grocery store in 15 minutes or less.)

8:00 am
I did a quick check the dvr back to the early visit CC caught, and didn't see any activity.

Here's how the nest looks this morning.

I did a quick check of the dvr back to my previous post, and didn't see any visits. There were a few little birds there briefly, and they left quite quickly, so I suspect one or both of the adults are nearby.

A nice sunny day in Surrey by the looks of it.

5:13 pm
Someone just landed on the nest.
20220525_003.jpg

No idea who it is yet, but I'm guessing one of the resident pair.

Just moved a stick. Not seeing much shading on the tail so maybe NM?
20220525_004.jpg

Whoever it was, they flew off at 5:15 pm.

Checked back to CC's post and didn't see any additional activity.

Good early morning, everyone, and thanks for starting our day here, nightowl!

Quick check of the dvr from yesterday evening -

There was a brief visit around 8:07 pm - I think NM?
20220525_006.jpg

He was only there a minute or two.

Another visit at 8:58 am - I think NF this time.
20220525_007.jpg
20220525_008.jpg

Shading on the tail looks darker than usual, but that may be the evening light.
20220525_009.jpg

She left around 9:02 pm.

Not seeing any other visits from last night.
