Stay safe Eagles!

0712 - I cannot keep up.. They are back! I've moved the cams closer but I need to jump in the shower. I'll be back too.

PS - I think one of them has food under their talons

Yes, a light coloured mammal with a long tail...

Does it look like the smaller Eagle is eating first??

OK, it's a rabbit. Both Eagles are quite hungry and there are a lot of vocals between them.

They get into a scuffle and the rabbit is stolen away and I think the one who had it first left with most of it. Wow.. ok I need to shower. I'll be back

I think this is our NF, which means it was the NM who stole the food and left

She did find a bite or two, and cleaned her beak after

Good morning, everyone, and thanks for the great coverage this morning, CC!

I checked the dvr back to CC's post.

NF went up to the little perch at 7:26 am and stayed there until 7:39 am, when she flew off to the right.

Good afternoon SR friends, and nice to see you Judy :)

It looks lovely around the SR reserve, with lots of wind but also sunshine.

I checked the DVR and did not see any activity since Judy's last update.

Thanks, CC! I heard some calling and logged into the South cam, and found at least one adult in the "hidden upper perch" area - not sure if you can seem the white head among the leaves, but it's there.

It's almost dinner time here, so I'm going to pull the cam back so we can see the nest as well and then log out.

Good evening SR friends. Well, would you look at that nest! Some work has been done since I saw it last. I'll roll back and report back.

Here is before at around 530pm - and after when I checked at 1914 :)

1915 - an Eagle arrives with a nice big leafy branch - it gets moved around a bit before s/he starts digging in the bowl.

1916 - His/her attention goes back to the big leafy branch, which they pick up and move

Then over to gently tug on a branch on the north side of the nest. What a beautiful Eagle :rh:

1917 - S/he picked up a piece of dark grass and carried it over to the west side of the nest

1918 - S/he's poking around on the west side of the nest. Very busy!

1919 - S/he flew south west and down

1920 - Haha, I waited and I was right. S/he returned with a very impressive stick. S/he put it on the south side of the nest but then picked it back up and moved it to the north side. Then stood looking around the nest and back to digging in the bowl

1921 - Odd - s/he keeps looking down as if something is moving or making a sound. Bugs?

S/he dug quite the hole

1923 - S/he flew south and down again

1923:48 - and back in with another big stick! S/he places it on the north side of the nest this time

S/he goes back to digging and moving moss and continues to be focused on something in the dirt, but not sure what. S/he may have found a bonus bite to eat when s/he was moving things around.

1926 - Well look who dropped in.

WOW, I think I got the ID on our first Eagle wrong. The Eagle that has been working very hard in the nest tonight was our handsome NM. :rh: :rh: Let me know what you think.

His big beautiful mate the NF dropped in and got right to work digging in that bowl. The NM was pushed aside, so things got a little testy. You cannot blame him!
