12:46 pm
Heard calling - one on the nest and the other on the hidden perch. Logging in.

1:01 pm
Adult on the nest finished eating, went to the little perch to clean/feak her(?) beak, and is now up on the slanted branch; the other adult is hard to see (it's not called the hidden perch for nothing), but is still there.

I am assuming that the one who was eating on the nest is the female and the one keeping watch above is the male because that's the way it usually works - there should be some good images of the one on the nest, but I haven't tried looking for any clues yet.

Looking back quickly on the south cam, they both flew to their spots at about 12:46:40, so if the one on the nest has new food (and they were eating) they brought it to the nest, though the other one may have provided it off-nest.

1:21 pm
Both are still where they were.

I need to step away from the computer for a few minutes.

I am logged out of both cams.

Came back to the computer to see that the adult on the slanted branch was gone. Looking back, the one up on the hidden perch flew off at 1:30 pm

and the one on the slanted branch stood there briefly, had a ps, and flew off less than a minute later.

They both appeared to head out from the cam and then go over to the left.

I moved the cam to show more of the nest tree and the south cam tree, and am logged out of both cams.

It's now 2:31 pm.

1827 - Good evening SR friends. Just checked the DVR.

We had an Eagle on the nest at 1504

It looks like we had a zoomer for this visit and the scaps I'm collecting are wonderful!. I won't report on this visit in case someone had their own narrative in mind

I may have been zooming for part of that, but my brain hit overload at least a half an hour ago. I had to be up early today, and will have to be up early again tomorrow, so if you can do anything with that visit, go for it. And Thank You!

Good night, everyone! :offtobed:

ROLLBACK

1504 - 1509 - I watched it through and can tell you that the New Male was on the Nest, then up to the low perch, some beak cleaning and then he flew.

2307 - All has been very quiet tonight, which is good and probably means our Surrey Reserve's new residents can get the rest they need to continue their bond.

2221 - Eagles are alerting

I suspect our pair is in the North Cam tree but the glare makes for poor visibility. Anyways, the threat moved on and it was quiet again quickly

I'm off for the night

I'm going to sign in quickly and take a look around.

5:54 am
I didn't see anyone in the nest tree, though it's very dark today. There may be someone perched on the left side of the south cam tree - looks like a white head at the center of the screen, though it's too dark to be sure. I'll leave the cam there for now.

I am now out of both cams, as of 5:56 am.

Hearing calling, so I logged in on South, but am not seeing anyone.

In on North - I may have found them. The circle on the left is what I have been thinking is an eagle, and the other circle may also be an eagle.
20220128_003.jpg

This is the lower right blob, and I think it just wiggled tail feathers, so probably an eagle.
20220128_004.jpg

And I'm seeing a tail on the other one, though I'm not going to post another grainy picture just yet. I'll leave the North cam looking at them and the South cam looking at the nest tree.

6:59 am
They are getting easier to see as it gets lighter.

7:10 am
The upper one is definitely an eagle; I'm now pretty sure the lower one is just a bend in a branch.
20220128_006.jpg

I think there were two there somewhere when they were calling.

7:11 am
Both took off; the other one came from somewhere overhead, maybe high in the nest tree?

Looking pretty towards the water, and it's quite likely the eagles went in that general direction, but unlikely that we'll see them.
20220128_007.jpg

I'll put the cam back looking towards the south cam tree for now and then log out.
