I heard some calls so logged into the South cam to check the partly hidden upper perch. No one there, but guess what I found in the branches to the right/east?

It might be the perspective, but the one higher up looks larger, so maybe the female.

I was working on something else so missed their departure. The one on top left first, at 7:29 am, and the other one flew off a moment later.

I looked around briefly and did not see them, so put the cam back on the wide view of the nest and distant perch.

I am now logged out of the cams.

WOW! What a great shot at that time of day. I wonder if they were up there all night?

Good question, CC - maybe we should leave the cam showing more of that side of the tree instead of keeping an eye on the distant perch, at least for a couple of days - what do you think?

Yes, absolutely Judy. I'll be sure to do that. I love that they are staying so close at night (;

I just checked the dvr back to 7 am and didn't see any activity, though I could have missed a quick visit to the partly hidden perch over the nest (or almost any in-and-out visit).

I also logged in and took a quick look at the upper branches, and didn't see anyone there.

I'm back out of the cam now, at 2:29 pm.

Great to see you here, joancm - and I think we all miss Sur and Res. :grhug:

What works for me is that there's no evidence that they didn't end up going off together, and maybe finding a new location that's a bit more rural and quieter - though they didn't seem to mind the activity below the nest during the three years we were privileged to watch them raise six healthy young eagles.

And it is interesting seeing the new pair getting to know each other and the territory.

I've logged in to the South cam to move it so it shows more of the upper branches in case the adults perch there tonight. The cam controls are very slow to respond - not sure if it's an issue with the cam or something going on with my computer.

4:22 pm
I am logged out of the cams - feel free to try a different location.

1636 - An Eagle is high up in the Nest tree, cannot see them but saw them fly up. Eagle chatter after.

I just took a quick look as high as we can see from the cam, and couldn't see anyone there. I've put it back so we can see part of the upper branches where they were this morning, and most of the west perch where the female has spent some nights lately - please feel free to try a different position.

The cam worked much better this time, so maybe something residual from the reboot I did shortly before trying to move it the last time.

Have a good evening, everyone!

1840 - I've been listening and watching and doing a bit of zooming just now but it's been quiet and I have not seen any Eagles yet since Judy's last update.

Brilliant placement of the South Cam Judy. We really cannot miss them now unless they decide to land up top :D

2051 - All has been quiet tonight. I know one of our Eagles landed far above in the Nest Tree earlier. I hope they are ok and that we'll see them tomorrow on the Nest.

Good night Eagle lovers :bye 1:
