1351 - Hi everyone. No nest visits since gemini's last update. Maybe they will visit before sundown, so I'm moving the cams closer to the nest for now. Please feel free to move them!

Good evening, everyone! Sorry I haven't been around - busy with some personal and family stuff today (all good, just time-consuming).
5:48 pm
It looks as if we have two eagles perched for the night - guessing Res and the new male?
Looking back, it appears that there was a visit to the nest starting at 4:42 pm. This was the first one in, and I think it's the new male.

Continuing from the dvr....
I think Res arrived around 4:45 pm - that's her on the right, and her "cowlick" isn't very obvious in the s'cap, but I definitely saw it.
She flew off around 4:46 pm, and the new male left a minute or so later.
I'm sorry that I wasn't around much today, and thank you all for your coverage here!
Quick check of the South cam from the same time - Res is on the right in both pictures though her cowlick is only obvious in one - and I think that even though the new male is a large male, she is bigger.
Have a good evening, everyone!

1049 - Good evening SR friends. Thanks for reporting JudyB. I had a few scaps from their evening visit that I really liked. The New Male is quite large and good-looking, isn't he? I really like looking at him. He's also very noisy when he's greeting Res so I've noticed.
When they went to the perch for the night there was quite a bit of vocalizing (started at 1715 and again at 1720 and again at 1730) coming from both? although I wasn't sure if it was Res complaining about him being close to her or they were annoyed with someone in the area who shouldn't be there. It was periodic for a bit. I'm still learning Eagle talk
Good night!

10:48 pm Looking back to JudyB's last post - it looks like both eagles are still on the night perch tree.

Good morning, everyone, and thanks for posting the weather, Bev!
They stayed until 7:21 am, with the one on the left going first and the other immediately after. Here are a couple of pictures from before they left.
I'm going to log into the cams briefly to move them to places we more often see the eagles during the day.
7:38 am
I am out of both cams - didn't see any eagles.

11:34 am Not seeing any eagles in the nest or on the distant perch tree. Checked back to JudyB's last post. I think it has stopped raining for the time being but looking rather dismal out there.
Re: Surrey Reserve 2021-2022 Observation and Discussion
2:00 pm Still nothing but the sky looks like it is trying to improve - it's blue in North Van and the sun is shining!

1656 - Good afternoon SR friends. I've quickly moved the south cam closer to the Nest to catch any visits before bed. I'll check the DVR now.

1606 - Just a scap of a firey-looking Surrey Reserve Nest and territory here.
1642 - New Male arrived just ahead of Res (that cowlick really helps!) New Male did his thing in the bowl first, Res tried to butt in a few times but he would not budge

1643 - Res pushes closer and then both are beaks down in the Nest Bowl - finally New Male moves and Res has the bowl
