Feeding at 13:27 nest time, Res in with duck.
Feeding over at 14:08

Sr6 right up there for feeding, Sr5 does a ps and then heads over for feeding.
Sr6 starts to get fed, Sr5 puts Sr6 into submission. Sr6 makes his way around
the adult grabbing for food, with Sr5 going after him with beak , Sr6 keep grabbing
for food, keeps working his way around parent with back towards Sr5 who keeps goin after Sr6 to stop him from getting bites.

Sr5 is very aggressive towards Sr6 this feeding, Sr5 trying to go after Sr6 to grab onto Sr6 head area. Keeping Sr6 in submission being right on top of him to keep him from getting bites of food.

Res feeding Sr6, Sr6 grabs the food. Res feeds Sr5 as well, keeping both chicks fed.
Both chicks are hungry for have not had much food yesterday or today .
Sr6 eats, Sr5 seems done, watching Sr6 get fed. Sr5 back to eating. doing little jumps at Sr6 to for worn him his dominance at the feeding table.

Sr6 sqeeing he is still hungry, grabbing food from Res beak.
13:56 Sr5 seems done, Sr6 chattering and still eating as Sr5 watches. Sr5 has a nice crop.

I went full screen to makes sure Sr5 was full and had a nice crop when stopped eating for I didn't think he was eating as much.
Sr6 getting a nice long self feeding while Sr5 seems content to watch Sr6 eat.
Maybe as the older they get, they are not needing as much to substane in their crops.

I love they are now walking around on their feet, oh how they have grown too fast and making milestones each day . How they sit so tall , with their wings open to cool themselves. The young adult characteristics starting to emerge.

What a wonderful meal, Duck for lunch! both were fed good and plenty.

Surrey Reserve

Nice crop on SR5 and SR6.
You can see the membrane and not quite sure the correct name for it on SR5's eyelid.

Wow - what a great afternoon for both eaglets! Here are a couple of closer looks at their very full crops, one full screen and the others zoomed in and direct from the cam for higher resolution.

Well, they were sitting up when I decided to zoom in for closeups, but these are cute too. It does look to me as if SR6 is practicing some sort of meditation technique!

Sur in to feed at 17:49 nest time.

Sr5 gets fed, Sr6 didn't get fed this meal. Sr6 attempted to go in for food but Sr5
kept Sr6 at bay with small jumps towards him.

Feeding over at 17:56 Sur fly's off

Both Sr5 and Sr6 have nice size crops from earlier feeding but as we know they can still find room for more :)

Sr5 , look at the different color feathers coming in. I love this stage of transformation on the eaglets.
S6 slowly but more n more each day his darker feathers are emerging as well.

Both Beautiful eaglets!!

1823 - Lots of Crows scolding right before an adult, Sur I think, arrived with prey in their talons. I suspect a nest robbing has occurred. Die quickly and RIP Baby Crow, thank you for your sacrifice.

18:23 feeding, Sur what looked like fish in talons .

Sr6 up taking it all in, Sr5 watching doesn't seem interested in meal. Maybe from last meal he had not hungry enough yet, still has a nice crop as Sr6 does as well.

Fill it to the brim little one.
Love how they chatter and eat at the same time. too cute.

I think the cackling crows have Sr5 distracted this feeding.. keeps looking up
as they are flying over n giving heck.

Meal over at 18:32

Sled's little ones, full crops before bed will have peaceful rest tonight..
Res and Sur :rh:

Ooops - Adult returns at 1845 and resumes feeding squeaky SR6 who thinks they have more room. SR5 gets up waddles over, puts the young warrior down and gets a good feed.

ok last one for the night. SR6 is shameless - Down in submission but still stealing bites that the adult is offering. What a cheeky one. Great day for our growing Eagles today. Goodnight Surrey Reserve friends.

Edited to add a pic of how lovely SR6's feather pattern is becoming. They seem to change by the hour these two.

1952 - Would you look at our SR6 standing up here? How much did they grow today? The adult is only force feeding them at this point, food hanging out of her mouth offering back and forth, finally SR5 managed to take it lol. :bye 1:

0641 - wow, an adult arrives with a Rabbit. There have been at least 2x feedings already today but the Eaglets eventually get up and start cheering while the adult prepares the juicy rabbit. 0654 and the Chicks will already no doubt have full crops all day today :rh:

SR5's back is itchy, more feather development for SR6 and I'm having to take a good look now to tell them apart! Both Eaglets are cheering and chirping. So darn cute :grhug:

Rabbit feast cont.

SR6 continues to cheer in between dozens of big bites. See the pattern on SR6? SR5 looks so beautiful with the sun on their back.. they take a few bites too but mostly watches SR6 get fed.

Good morning, everyone! Thanks so much for your reports - wonderful to see things going so well here!

This is out of sequence - sorry - a couple of pics from the feeding at 6:13 am.

SR6 was there first because SR5 was a bit busy (but really showed feather development in this position!)
20210510_001.jpg

SR5 did encourage SR6 to move over - and I noticed something I hadn't seen/heard before. While SR6 was attempting to get back in to where s/he could grab some bites, in addition to lunging a little towards the younger chick, I think SR5 made a little warning call, telling SR6 to back off.
20210510_002.jpg
20210510_003.jpg

I'll see if I can find the moment and add a little video.

I had to leave then, but did see SR6 grabbing a few bites before I left.

Added -

:vid: SR5 Says "Back Off" (2-1/2 minutes)

There's one quick call around timestamp 6:14:12, and several just before 6:15:00. If you watch to the end, SR6 moves around, and does join in the feeding. After all these years of watching eagle cams, there's still so much new to learn!

These are from 7:14 am, and when I grabbed them, I thought this was SR5 hanging out with Mom, based on the fluffy hairdo and rounded body - but Sur is a large male - and this is definitely Sur; I just checked and will include a closeup at the end. I loved watching SR5 and Dad moving in unison as they tracked a crow (I think) flying overhead.

I added the video I mention two posts back.

It's now 8:07 am; Sur is moving some of the leftover food remnants around, and SR5 is watching; not that there's really a dividing line, but I think SR5 is moving from chick focused on growth to eaglet focused on "how does this eagle thing work?" SR6 still has some growing to do, and is dozing on the nest doing just that.

And I'm away from the computer for a while.

12:00 noon
Res is on the nest with the sleeping chicks.

Off the check the dvr....

As far as I could tell from a quick scroll through the dvr, Sur stayed in one spot on the side of the nest until 9:45 am - I'm reminded of all the times we laughed about him standing and looking (S&L) - and I think he was practicing for just this moment! :mihihi:

One of the chicks started calling for food, and Sur moved toward the leftovers. Look at SR5's wing as s/he stretches before getting up!
20210510_011.jpg

They both moved over
20210510_012.jpg

And SR6 wisely moved out of easy reach of SR5, and got some food.

They both had lots of bites, and by the end I don't think either of them were hungry. SR6 moved away at 9:57, while SR5 had a few more bites.
20210510_014.jpg

The feeding was over shortly afterwards, and Sur flew off at 10:06. The chicks were alone on the nest for a while - here's SR6 showing h/h big crop.
20210510_015.jpg

Res arrived at the nest at 11:11 am. I think SR6 saw her coming and got up as she approached.
