Good evening, everyone!

5:12 pm
Sur and Res arrived a couple of minutes ago.

Sur on left.

It's interesting how they seem to like visiting at dusk and dawn - sunset was 4:38 pm, though it stays light for a while after that.

They were both looking the same way a second before I took this - but this is also cute.

Res on the right flew off a moment later; Sur is still standing and looking at 5:15 pm.

Just before Sur and Res arrived, a squirrel was scampering around and went into his nest which I believe is in the underside of the Eagle’s nest.

Thanks, Whovian - I missed that! I do see the squirrels there a lot, and hope they keep an eye out, as the eagles may not be interested in sharing the nest (though it's not uncommon for small birds or occasionally mice or squirrels to live in the bottom part of eagle nests).

This has been a long visit! I believe that it's Res that's been hanging around on the nest?

2:53 am Here's a video to go along with Bev's and BillA's posts on this morning's long visits! There were no other visits today1

It covers two separate visits from 11:00 am to 12:24 pm Most of the visit consisted of poking in the nest, moving fluff, fussy stick moving and standing around (I think Sur outdid himself today by standing in one place from 11:38 - 12:24!) - which I edited out. There was some fun stick moving, Sur wrangled with an awkward stick for almost 5 minutes before giving up (one part of the stick kept landing on his back!) and a couple of shoving matches - that Res won of course! Sur left at 11:26 on the first visit and Res left at 11:28. Only Sur came back for a second visit at 11:34 bringing with him the awkward stick. He left at 12:24 PM.

:vid: Sur wrangles with an awkward stick!
