Good morning, everyone! Thanks for starting our day, nightowl, and thanks for the weather report, Bev!

7:23 am
The cams switched to color not long ago - and our friend the squirrel is back. I checked Google and each squirrel generally builds his or her own nest and lives there alone (except females with little squirrels - forgot to see what they're called) - so I'm going to call our little friend "he" for simplicity, since I don't see a way to tell the gender. He was on alert briefly:

then returned to removing some of the leaves that fell overnight and other bits of nesting material. Haven't seen him for a couple of minutes, so he may be working on the den or out looking for food.

The article also said that squirrels generally each have several dens - so hopefully he'll move to another one once he discovers that their are eagles living on his roof.

I think this is the one I have been guessing is the female - no little feather below the neckline in front, feathers around the eye look white, and I'm not seeing the little dark spot on the right side of the tail.

Off she goes at 9:46 am; male(?) left a few minutes ago. North cam shook just after she left - will try to bring up South zoomer cam to see if she's there (I'm already on North).

Not seeing her in the north cam tree.

The cam blends in quite well - it's right in the middle of the picture above, below the Y in the tree.

Lunch time here - I'm signing out of both cams, and will be back in a while.

I've been watching much of the time for the last couple of hours, and haven't seen any eagles - or the squirrel.

I'm going to be away from the computer for a while now.

2nd to arrive came with a long branch.
And they work on where to place it.
