TinaVon. As hard as it is to watch a young life struggle, it is nature. I to used to get upset when the little ones would struggle with no human intervention. It happens everyday on hundreds of nests of all kinds of birds. I have grown to understand the way of thinking that intervention will not take place. That being said, intervention does happen if the issue is caused by humans such as fishing line, trash in the nest or if the young are thrown from the nest in storms or by predators. If poor little Sirius is not thriving due to choking or having caught a bad cold or infection, then sadly nature must take its course. I have learned over the years that not intervening is the right way to go, hard as it might be to observe. God bless little Sirius and I truly hope he bounces back and starts to thrive again.

Good Evening All! I forgot to post these s'caps that I was able to get around 9:07 pm. Sirius woke up while Starr was all tucked back, and then Starr woke up too.

Thank you Dino for your words of wisdom and comfort. Hopefully we are all just expressing our emotions and concerns and Sirius will cough up a pellet tomorrow and all will be ok.

Hi Rita. I certainly am hoping for the same. Maybe he can cough up this pellet and start feeling better. I do wish that Starr would cover him tonight as it is cold again and he needs the warmth to get better. I want to see him pop up in the morning looking for his breakfast, god willing.

Looks like Sirius might have moved closer to Starr. Hard to tell in the IR to be sure but I did see movement.

I see him popping up every now and then and Starr shifts like she’s going to move over him. She’s not asleep.

Starr is tucked in again now. Sirius is right in front of her. Thank you again Sue. That is a good sign.

Not sure if you saw that Rita but Starr got up and Sirius is basically totally under her. See the eyeball just to the right of Starr's beak.
