Enjoying gorgeous fall weather as we approach our Thanksgiving holiday, high pressure will dominate with warming temperatures and dry conditions through the weekend. High pressure will settle into the Great Basin today, setting us up for a moderate offshore flow on Thanksgiving Day. Looking at a lovely day out there today under sunny skies with highs in the lower 50's, winds turning north-northeasterly 5-15mph. Clear tonight and locally breezy, especially below passes and canyons as lows drop into the upper teens and 20's. Temperatures will drop into the 40's tomorrow with gusty offshore winds, warming to the 50's Friday into the weekend as the offshore flow weakens. Long-range forecast models continue to show a pattern change for us next week, with snow expected as early as Monday, with another storm possible later in the week. This will be a cold storm with preliminary estimates of up to 1" of rain possible across the lower elevations. The snow level could also drop as low as 3,500 feet Monday where around 4-8 inches of snow are possible through Tuesday. Will have additional details and adjustments in the coming day so check back often for updates!
