I have several videos that I never got posted--will do it now :D

First Day Without Peace - Hope Doing Well - Peace's Body Moved - Jan 14, 2021- Captiva Bald Eagles

Hope is looking good -- scap is from the video
CAP Hope looking good 1-14-21.jpg

From Deb Stecyk

This footage captures clips of the Captiva family; Hope, Mom and Dad after the sad loss of Peace last night. Hope is eating and doing well sporting a great crop. Hope does some wing flapping show casing her pin feathers and mighty wings. Before dark parent moves Peace's body to the edge of the nest; feathers are plucked and removed from Peace's body by both parents. As daylight faded Peace's body remains on the nest although a few times today it looked like Mom wanted to fly off with it. Good Night Mom, Dad and sweet baby Hope stay safe. Peace Soar High and Forever Free Lil Guy you are missed!

Thanks to the landowner Lori and the AEF for providing the Captiva Eagle Cams

AEF Captiva Eagles ~ Mom & Dad Both Bring Hope A Grass Blanket! 😊 Dad Covers Hope Up! 1.16.21

ere c omes Connie with a huge lump of grass -- scap is from the video
CAP Grass blankie 1 1-16-21.jpg

From Lady Hawk

Connie arrives first with a huge clump of grasses for the nest and spreads it around. A half hour later, Joe arrives with his own delivery of grasses! Connie will take off and Joe gets to work and first puts a stick on Hope and then will cover up Hope with the grass blanket! lol Connie arrives with a fish and puts it right on the grass blanket. Hope will stand up letting the grass fall back down to the nest probably thinking enough with the blankie just give me some fish! ♥♥ Thank you for watching!

AEF Captiva Eagles ~ Hope Can't Resist Nipping At Connie's Tail Feathers!! 😊 Too Cute!! 1.17.21

Hope nipping Connie's tail -- scap by Lady Hawk from her video
CAP nipping tail 1-17-21 LH.jpg

From Lady Hawk

Hope is now 34 days old and the dark juvenile feathers are emerging nicely. Hope is watching Mom and sweetly reaches out to grab her feathers while Mom is preening. 😊 Connie moves and her tail feathers are now brushing back and forth on Hope and that is too much temptation to resist - so Hope tries to nip at her tail! Just to darn cute!! Thank you for watching!

CAP swallowsd fish tail 1-17-21 LH.jpg

From Lady Hawk

Joe flies in with a fish and Hope actually mantles it for the very first time! Good job Hope!! Joe begins feeding Hope - it was a long feeding! Towards the end, Joe offers up a fish tail at 7:04 and Hope swallows it!! That was great to see Hope get the prized fish tail! Joe continues to feed until Hope walks away full and ready for a nap. Thank you for watching!

We are not certain what might be wrong with Hope or if there is anything at all but I'm going to post two videos by Lady Hawk that show tremors in both of Hope's legs just so it will be documented.

AEF Captiva Eagles ~ Unusual Leg Tremors/Trembling Seen In Eaglet Hope! 1.19.21

From Lady Hawk

I have been noticing these leg tremors in Hope for the past few days but tonight they went on for several minutes long. Hope kept trying to stretch out the leg but it would start trembling again. I don't know if this is anything of concern or not, but I have sent this video to a friend of mine at CROW for her to review. With the death of Peace last week of unknown causes and seeing leg trembling in Hope, I wonder if it may be some sort of neurological illness or disease. I hope this turns out to be nothing serious for our sweet Hope. Thank you for watching!

AEF Captiva Eagles ~ More Leg Tremors Seen In Hope Today! 1.20.21

Lady Hawk

Hope ate a large fish this morning and has a full crop and laid down on the nest to rest. Leg tremors can be seen again in Hope's left leg. It also appears that Hope's left wing twitches a little (or it might be because the left leg was trembling). Yesterday I did a video showing tremors in Hope's right leg - now they are seen in her left leg. CROW is aware of these tremors and is observing Hope at this time. I do hope this is nothing serious but we need to observe her closely for any behavioral changes. Thank you for watching!
