Good Monday evening, faithful Hamlet viewers! Thank you for being here with us as we hope for another visit from Romy or Samson, they must be very busy these days fishing and soaring the beautiful Florida sky! We have seen some pretty egrets today doing some fishing of their own by the waterfall Our ground crew reports that Samson is still perched in the LYT as in the earlier photo above!

MONDAY TUCK-IN: Samson arrived at the LYT before 5pm and finally flew to a nearby pine to roost for the night (photo by Glenn above). Has Romy departed? Time will tell. He spent his last night at the LY on Saturday night after spending most of the day at the nest. If he's on his way, he's well prepared.....thanks to his faithful dad, Samson. SED to all!
Goodnight ....bonjour Philjo!~

jd_AEF 23:07 As of 11:05 pm all is quiet in the Hamlet. Bugs the Tree Frog has made a few brief appearances but was quick to hop off again. Maybe there just aren't enough bugs in the nest tonight.
jd_AEF 23:46 Pre-midnight check-in: All still very very quiet in the Hamlet tonight. No rain, no wind, no bugs, no frogs. Guess all is well at this time!
jd_AEF 23:55 Good early morning Hamlet! It’s the Stroke of Midnight on June 9th, and that means it is officially National Donald Duck Day, which commemorates the birthday of a very famous animated cartoon character. Donald Duck made his first screen debut on June 9, 1934, in The Wise Little Hen.
“Usually wearing a sailor suit with a cap and a black or red bow tie, Donald Duck is most famous for his semi-intelligible speech along with his mischievous and irritable personality. He has appeared in more films than any other Disney character. Donald was also declared in 2002 by TV Guide as one of the 50 greatest cartoon characters of all time. His middle name is Fauntleroy. The name means “child king” and derived from Old French.”
During Donald’s second appearance in Orphan’s Benefit, he introduced his comic friend, Mickey Mouse. Donald’s girlfriend, Daisy Duck, along with his nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, were introduced shortly after that.
In addition to animation, Donald is also known for his appearance in comic books and newspaper comic strips. One of Donald Duck’s famous sayings is “Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy.”
National Donald Duck Day was first proclaimed by L.A. Mayor Tom Bradley in 1984 on Donald’s 50th birthday. The world’s most famous duck gave the city a silver statue of himself as a gift in memory of the big day. He also toured the country leading up to the big Disney birthday party bash.
As a very “just ducky” person myself, I am hoping we will all join together to honor Donald and his friends on this day.
Personal note from me. Disney family came from France, a little town of Normandy called "Isigny" so in French we say the familily is coming from "d'Isigny / Disney".
In the french Disney park, the butter they serve is "du beurre d'Isigny" as Normandy is known for his camembert and butter and the particularity of d'Isigny is the butter.

Well, Samson came to the nest just before noon with a Mackerel for Romy. Will he just have to eat it himself? We shall see! Stay tuned!

Good Tuesday afternoon! We are watching as Samson waited as long as possible for Romy to come for the fish he brought, but the hawks are active this afternoon, and Samson finished the fish as the hawk came closer. Samson flew up to Lookout Point and the hawk did a close fly-by on cam 1, Samson flew to the nest and then to the Sunset Branch at 12:20, as he called out vocals to the hawk. Best view on cam 2.e
Tweetie_AEF#1887 Today at 2:04 PM
Samson flew off at 12:54, after hawks and another raptor, possibly a vulture, repeatedly flew very close to him overhead, causing him to call out warning vocals and assume defense mode! The fish Samson brought was probably what drew the other raptors to the area, but bless our Samson for trying to provide his Romy with another nice fish! It was wonderful to see Samson! Stay with us for more Hamlet adventures!
