Hi OLD BEAR.. Are talking about the critter that I post yesterday ? Sorry I don't ! I often saw squirrels in this nest but the critter I saw yesterday was a first for me .

Yes IrishEyes. The pictures of the critter you posted yesterday was something I do not recognize and was curious.

Hi, did they know what it was? It looks familiar, but I couldn't find any animal like that. It's the pointy nose and small ears that throw me! And no tail.

I understood they did...maybe the critter lost its tail accidentally :dunno:

I asked Sutton.. do you think the critter I saw was a racoon ?

Yes, there were at least two seen in nest over the weekend, and your photo shows one.

Thanks for connecting with Sutton, Bev - and I have to say that it doesn't look like a raccoon to me, unless the ones they have in Oklahoma are a lot different from the ones in Maine. I still think it looks like a fisher - but there's no way one of them should be that far south. I think this may end up being one of life's little mysteries.

I will note that fishers usually have long fluffy tails, which this critter clearly didn't have - and we didn't really see the face, which would make it more obvious if it was a raccoon.

I agree about it being a mystery ~ :dunno: I guess either way .. it is critter that we don't need on this nest :no:
