Good morning Kenai Eagle family, Bev, Baita, and Kitcat.
We did not see Aurora or Denali on the nest tree in cam view 8-25-2020. Once again, I am posting a “throwback” memory scap, rather than an empty nest picture, to start the day. We have pictures in the forum, from the ground observer, of Aurora and Denali together on 8-20 and 8-21. All Ground Pictures are linked in the timeline on Page 1 of the forum. Please note the date on this scap.
6-7-2020 Redoubt left, Aurora right, Denali top, Spurr bottom.

Aurora was last on cam view 8-18 @ 10:40, leaving the nest tree. Denali was last on cam view 8-19 @ 10:12:49, leaving our view after fledging, and flying by on 8-23 @ 15:33. Ground pictures (links on Page 1) show us Aurora and Denali are together.
Bev, thank you for your beautiful words. Thank YOU for your continued support of this nest throughout the years. This season was both terrible and wonderful. I hope next season is only wonderful. I know Aurora and Denali are doing well in their little corner of heaven.

Denali: Although we miss seeing you and Aurora on the nest, I am so thankful every day you have fledged and are out doing All The Things. I am confident you are exploring and learning, getting ready to be on your own one day.
I still remember when you reached your four week Hatch Day mark. After the loss of Redoubt, the intruder had been relentless, even coming on to the nest during the night. Every night I prayed for you and Aurora, knowing it would be a tough eight weeks or so for you to make it to fledge. So now, when I look at the empty nest, what I see are my prayers were answered, and what a beautiful view it is. Happy Hatch Day, Denali, you are 13 weeks old.
6-28-2020 Throwback scap. Denali, four weeks old, with a full crop after a feeding by Aurora. I remember this day, thinking eight more weeks was a long way away. Click on scap to enlarge.
