...and H9 then swoops, ferocious flapping steal, beak to beak tug of war (watch in slo mo!) and flies off w/fish. Leaves H10 sputtering & stomping (and hoping?) in nest/tree til almost 7:40 AM...and..
Hiolair 333
Both Hs look beautiful. NOTE: Action starts before 6:53 AM but CSE timestamp is wrong (sez "21:17" when it isn't) BUT Bill corrects timestamp and focus during the action. Key on "6:53AM" to find it.
EagleStreamer
while we image these two 'hunting' and 'fishing' for live prey (which they will eventually learn to skillfully do),
EagleStreamer
initially they will most likely get the majority of their food from foraging for dead stuff or stealing food somebody already caught
EagleStreamer
they have an instinctive prey drive and they know what food (dead or alive) looks like. once the adult stops provisioning them they really need to 'get busy' finding enough calories to sustain them.
EagleStreamer
how easy food is to find varies greatly by location; so the juveniles will wander to find the best food sources.

Hey IrishEyes,
I checked facebook and don't see much on the Harmar. It looks like they fledged around the end of June...I found this. Do you want me to post it on the Harmar thread?? I'll keep looking...
