Here's the adult before they fly off

And adult is still there as the eaglet up top moves over to the right

Adult is gone now, eaglet that flew in appears to have something, I guess...can't see it though
2019-06-25 10_58_29-Greenshot.jpg
10:02 am - They had gone to the very front right side of the nest, almost out of view...thinking they were eating something but now they are looking to go up into the tree so maybe there wasn't food...no wonder there was so much squeeing. Or maybe it was just a small snack and they did eat it already, not sure.

10:02 am - still squeeing away as they head up to the roof with the other eaglet

10:03 am - they turn around to face the other way....still squeeing...they seem upset that they didn't get what they wanted
2019-06-25 11_03_01-Greenshot.jpg
And they fly off...the eaglet that was up top all along is still there

As we come to the end of our season with the Trio and Little Trio, I just wanted to post some s'caps of the Little Trio's journey so far. For only a second time Mom, Starr has done an amazing job with three little babies, incubating them for days on end, keeping them fed and warm, and dry, through all the weather, and showing them just what they need to know to get to the next part of their journey. Valor 1 & Valor 2, what a great set of Dads this little Trio have had the luck to be born with.....how many other fledglings could say they had two Dads and a Mom. These two Dads worked very hard to please Starr, and to build that nest even bigger this year. They amazed me when it was their turn to give Starr a break and incubate three eggs, how gentle they were....it was like it was nothing new to them...just hop in and roll the eggs. Both Dads worked hard to bring the food in for three growing eaglets, and when Valor 2 got hurt, Valor 1 stepped it up a bit to be sure the whole family was fed...even enough for Valor 2 while he was on the mend. These three parents have taught the Little Trio well.....and to see all three of the little Trio make it to fledge, and seeing them now flying around and still coming back to the nest every now and then, each with their own personalities, just amazes me. I wish the Little Trio well and lots of fish for their next adventure away from the nest. Will miss them. And to Starr, Valor 1, and Valor 2, I wish them a nice relaxing summer as they continue to teach the fledglings what they need to learn to become the great eagles that they are.

The first s'cap below is from earlier in the season, showing our eaglets through 6 weeks old. The 2nd has one s'cap from when the eaglets were young...maybe a week old, then weeks 7 through 11, and the Stars of the season right in the middle...the Parents.

10:20 am - I may have missed the fledgling moving around...or possibly going down to the nest but heard some noise and when I got back to the cam screen they were facing the other way and further in on the roof branch....
2019-06-25 11_19_48-Greenshot.jpg
They turned and flew down to the nest...could barely see them, only their wings as they flapped a little before flying off

Sue, this post brought tears to my eyes. So beautifully & well said. And the pics are awesome, too. Thank you!
It's a great event to get outside and enjoy nature. I find it very exciting no matter how many times I see bald eagles.

Hi Joan! These eaglets always bring tears to my eyes this time of year.

I had been recording and/or watching for the last 50 minutes or so and have not seen anyone come to the nest.

I also wanted to send a Huge Thank You :ty: out to Sandy for the many hours she has spent documenting this nest, and handling the majority of the Topic Assistant duties here for the Trio Nest. In addition to all the documentation of our Trio family she has really provided so much insight & knowledge into our eagles and provided so much extra information from multiple sites, and this has really added to my experience. Sandy has a full time job and still found the time every day to make sure she dropped in to see how the Trio and Little Trio were doing. Without her this Trio thread would be so lost.....I know that I would have been.

Thank you so much Sandy! I really appreciate you for all you have done. It was great working with you this season and hope we can do it again next year!

Oh Sue, this made me cry. I didn't catch it earlier as was at the doctor's office first for myself and my Charlie and saw the nest view change. So now at home after a day of crazies, finally got to read your notes for the year and especially putting together the points of interest during this season in image form. Big hugs and thanks for all you have done to make this forum enjoyable for many to enjoy!

OK, it is tissue time, Sue. When you and I first talked about taking the Trio forum, we knew it would be challenging because we both love the Trio eagles and wanted to do what was best to document their journey. At one time, we thought we could at least capture the milestones and that would work. But that certainly wasn't enough. Throughout my work days, you were there to catch as much of the activity as you could. Even when the cam was having major issues, you didn't give up. If it was even a glimpse of what was happening, you were there to capture it and capture it you did. For those times and moments, plus the day to day happenings, know I appreciate you so very much because you kept me going. And yes, there will be another Trio eagle season next year and I so hope we can do this again too! Do believe we made a great team!

I am not ready to say my goodbye to the Trio eagles yet and will do that sometime this weekend as we will close the forum Monday, July 1st. If anyone of you want to share those special moments or memories, please feel free do so. Our Trio eagles are a very special eagle family.

4:27 pm with the empty nest staring back at us, let the thoughts turn to our little Trio, Harmony, Joy and Peace, soaring out across the refuge.

5:18 pm mantling and stealing. One of the fledglings has possession and the other one wants the fish. I didn't catch which adult brought the fish as when I started recording, the adult had flown.

5:18 pm well, this is funny. The fledgling trying to steal the fish from the other one. The thing about it is, the fledgling who took initial possession has a hold of the fish with the talons. It is a tug-of-war between both. One holding on with the beak and the other with the talons.
