Almost forgot, today they are both 12 weeks old. They got fed very well on each of their 12 week celebration days!

Thanks Journi for your identifying marks of GG2. That should help us a little bc that black band, although very distinctive, is only seen when h/s is probably in flight or with tail feathers spread.
Happy 12 weeks birthday GG2 and GG3.

Hi Kitcat! Yes, that white square marking on GG2s tail is going to be much easier to see who's who!
Glad that got figured out today so we know when GG3 fledges for sure!

I think GG 3 just flew off the back of the nest. @4:26 pm local. It wasn't an easy jump down but a wing flapping jump.

Parent flew in with a fish and both eaglets made it back to the nest from the “ below the nest” branch. Not sure which one got the food. GG3? The other one tried to steal a couple of times with no success; Then that one cast a huge pellet

GG2 just flew off the nest @ 7:20 p to the branch and then off the nest. GG3 down in the nest resting after eating the whole fish.

It appears GG2 spent h/h first night off the nest but flew back in about 6:30. Parent dropped off food; looks like it went over the nest and parent had to retrive it. After eating GG2 flew off and GG3 is on a high branch to the right of the nest. H/ s keeps following something, maybe GG2 flying around. That looks like a good fledge branch to me; what do you think GG3?

GG3 has definitely fledged. I thought I saw him fly off this morning but I definitely just saw them both fly into the nest. So it is a fledge.

It sure was, jwin36, GG3 fledged from the front left branch this morning at 9:01 nest time and has now returned at 10:47 nest time. A beautiful landing! What a terrific day
Re: Glacier Gardens Eagles, Juneau Alaska ~ 2018 Season
Thank you, shoupie, for confirming the fledge. This nest is hard to observe because of limited sight lines. The two lets have very few branching opportunities. I went to the Glacier Gardens web site and saw what the nesting area looks like. The nest doesn't seem to be too close to many branches. They really have to fly to get to nearby trees.
So... congrats to both of them!

Congrats to GG3 on a successful fledge this morning I managed to roll the feed back to find it and have been recording videos of their activities in and out of the nest. I will post some s'caps later.
