-- The normal nest view from the cam--Both parents and the 3 2016 eggs
A pair of bald eagles who call an Avon Lake elementary school (about 20 miles from Cleveland) home can be seen 24/7 thanks to a live video feed.
The camera was installed at Redwood Elementary School and is now available to view through YouTube.
-- One of the many serious discussions had by Stars and Stripes--they seem to love bickering
This pair of eagles started nesting at the school in November of 2014 and were named Stars and Stripes by the students. In April of 2015 two eaglets, who were named Hope and Pride, hatched and eventually successfully fledged.
"The names of the eaglets were chosen because we hope that they will come back to nest, and we have great pride that the eagles chose Redwood Elementary School to build their nest," said principal T.J. Ebert
The adult eagles have become unofficial mascots of the school and teachers incorporate them into lessons and art projects.

"Enjoy it while it lasts" is the first lesson Principal T.J. Ebert emphasizes. Ebert acknowledges that the unlikely location of the nesting site, right above one of the school's playgrounds, might be temporary. "This is very rare, it just doesn't happen," he spoke with a tone of amazement.

Re: Avon Lake, Ohio -- 2018
2016 was a mixed season for the pair at this nest. They laid 3 eggs and all three hatched. The first and second hatched fledged near the end on June 2016. Unfortunately we lost tiny #3 on April 13th at the age of 2 days

Re: Avon Lake, Ohio -- 2018
The 2017 season was mixed as well. there were two wonderful, beautiful eaglets who fledged safely but out of the three eggs that were laid again we had one that did not hatch. All in all a successful season though.

It sure looks as though we may have a hatch with that nibbled on food in the nest. I have not caught a look yet.

Re: Avon Lake, Ohio -- 2018
There is still no sign of either a pip or a hatch at this nest for any of the 3 eggs. It's day 39 for Egg #1. Mom has not left the nest for several days and in fact did a very unusual PS from the nest that nearly had her doing a somersault!!
Dad just left some new food in the nest--a mammal of some sort
