I am so happy to have been able to watch these magnificent eagles for the past few seasons!!! It has opened my eyes to a new and wonderful experience!!! I can't begin to express my gratitude to all the Pritchetts for bringing it to the public forum!!! Also, to the dedicated Mods, zoomies, and all who join in on "chat"......we are family, and the love of these eagles we share is life changing for some who have gone through loss or other hardships in the seasons! I look forward to a new and successful season, come this fall, as Harriet and M15, as once again, express the love and devotion they have with each other and share it with us!!! Thank you for letting me post this!

 Hi linlere514! ... I'm so glad that you stopped by for a visit and for your heart-felt post!

Haven’t posted in forever; but I’m here every day. I appreciate everyone’s contributions & insights. I’m puzzled by the photos this afternoon of one of our adult eagles perched near a shopping center parking lot. I just assumed that this was the Publix parking lot just across & south of the nest. But upon a very close up look on google earth, I don’t believe it is. The lights/light poles are different; & I’m not seeing any of the many stop signs that appear in the photos. Doesn’t appear to be the McDonald’s or CVS lot further down the street. These shots are obviously s’caps taken from the live cam feed; so it can’t be very far away. I can’t for the life of me figure out which parking lot they are hanging out at? Anybody know, for sure? :dunno:

Hi Liv4cruzin! The parking lot we see in the cam scaps earlier today is the Publix parking lot. The Publix would be to the left of the cam scap which is not seen in the cam scap that you saw today. ~Journi

This is the eagle sighting earlier today at the Publix parking lot. The Publix shopping center building is to the left of this scap which you cannot see.
The red dot is one of the adults flying towards the left of this scap - which is the direction of the shopping center building.
The yellow circle is the tree where the eagle flew from.
31418 tree circled where eaglewas.JPG
Maybe this scap will help you see the Cam1 point of view of the Publix parking lot...?
Publix 2 Eagle parkinglot spotting.jpg
Google map (it is dated 2018). Yellow line is cam1 line of view to the area where the eagles have been spotted.
You cannot see the Publix building from this cam 1 line of view.

Journi, I do appreciate your clarification photos. I’m just stuck on all those red stop signs visible in your 5pm photos. Again when I pull up the Publix parking lot on google earth & zoom all the way down to street view, I see no stop signs. I’ve enlarged; rotated that pic 6 ways to Sunday; & took a s’cap. Tried but unable to post the pic. I can’t drag & drop; & it’s too large for attachment. Oh well :dunno:

At one time I had a couple dozen posts on the old boards. Guess those stats are lost; & one has to start over since the new format?

:eag: Good morning Liv4cruzin! I don't know what else to tell you about your Google map and that map not having the stop signs ...maybe Publix just recently installed those stop signs so that is why they are not there in your Google map?

Here is the link to the old 2017 - 2018 Season 6 SWFEC Hancock forum:
http://archive.hancockwildlife.org/foru ... ic=1030713
Yes, when this new forum started, old stats in the old forum did not roll over to this new forum.

Good to meet you and thanks for posting your question! Have a good day! ~Journi
