Good morning Bev

Last news

March 22, 2018: There are some technical problems with the camera equipment. Unfortunately, the problem is up in the tree, and we cannot fix it while birds are in the nest, so the camera will likely be offline for the rest of the season. Barring a bad storm that damages the nest tree, the birds should be fine from this point forward.

Thanks for bringing the update here, Philjo - must admit I was hoping for better news, but suspected if it was something easy to fix, it would have been fixed by now.

#1 was 6 weeks old yesterday, and #2 will be 6 weeks old on Sunday - already halfway to fledging (give or take a week or two!). Be safe, young ones - and know our thoughts will be with you, wherever you roam.

Thanks, Bev! I had seen that - and perhaps in a couple of weeks you could check with Dan to see if there were any updates from the rangers. We don't want to pester him - but it would be lovely to know that they are continuing to do well - and that they fledged.

Hi Judy, Philjo and all who watch this nest ..

I heard from Dan at Sutton ..

Hi Bev, sorry, we have not been in touch with them for a while. We have not had many severe storms yet this spring, so I would expect that they are doing well. It is possible that the Sequoyah Refuge Facebook page would have some kind of update.
Dan

ETA

I tried to find something on FB and had no luck. I will ask Judy B to have a look when she has time .....

HI kboehner I see this is your first post and welcome to HWF :hi: and to this nest thread :) ..... I wish we had some news .... but I am thinking no news is good news and I am sure your read the response I posted from Dan at Sutton..

Personally.. I feel this family is doing well going by what we saw and posted before the cam went down , having said that it would be nice to know for sure :)

I just want to say I enjoyed every day I watched this beautiful family ..Sadly the cam went down went down when the chicks were almost 4 weeks old.. I am a firm believer that Mom and Dad raised two beautiful chicks and both fledged successfully ~ :rh:

Thank You Suttion for cam for almost 4 weeks and doing your best to get it back on line and to HWF for featuring it on their website !

:luck: next season the cam will be streaming again :)

A huge thank you to you Judy B , Philjo for all your s'caps , posts and observations ! :grhug:

This is great news! 9 13 18
We've been able to do some work on the eagle cam!
A new camera and other equipment has been installed.
It was quite an adventure. A big thank you goes out to our
very own Armando Fabela as he braved the heights and operated the lift.
We also want to thank the fine folks from the George Miksch Sutton Avian Research Center
for being our longtime partner in this camera.
So lets hope all the new equipment functions properly and the eagles return
to the nest for another season.
The finishing touches should be complete within the week and the stream
should be back online. We will let everyone know when it's going again!
