Oak Bay tour yesterday. Female in the nest at York Place and male on top of sequoia across the way. She flew out of the nest to join him and they perched together until we left.
No signs of life at Golf Course nest.
We heard tweeting at the Gonzales nest but did not see anyone.
Back with some pix.

Here is a video of the York Place- Fire Hall pair from yesterday. Unfortunately catch the fly in which was quite interesting because she hovered for a while in front of the tree before landing.

I did a tour of the Oak Bay nests today with 2 of my birding friends. All 3 of us are positive the eagle in the York Place nest was feeding an eaglet I'll be back later with a few more details and some photos.

York Place nest visit yesterday morning; photos taken from Prospect Place.
One eagle was at the back of the nest (male) when we arrived, the female was in the nest feeding an eaglet.
The male at the back of the nest flew out to a nearby tree, landing amongst all the branches where he was barely visible, just to the right of the V branches almost in the middle of the photo.
The male in the tree flew out, circled around and landed in the nest, after the female flew out towards the marina.

York Place visit yesterday afternoon.
When we arrived the eagle at the top of the big tree across the road was squawking at a juvenile flying overhead.
The head and some dark feathers seen in the nest from York Place.

Sylvan Lane nest yesterday:
We met a lovely couple who live next door to the nest tree and had a nice chat with them. They were very kind and offered us some refreshments. When we said thank you very much but we couldn't stay long they offered us chairs. What sweet people
We also met a fellow up on Dennison Road where I had photographed the pair of eagles a few years ago. He has been working very hard renovating his home and the landscaping was beautiful!
Heard an eagle in the nest calling; a short while later the 2nd eagle flew in to assume incubating duties. The exchange was so quick I didn't get a photo of the eagles in the nest; just the nest from both sides. I did get a photo of the eagle that flew out but it is too blurry to post.

Short drive by yesterday.
Adult in the nest at Lansdowne and Beach Drive.
Adult in the lowest of the three nests at the Golf Course.
One adult on the post on Trial Island.
Nothing visual at Gonzales but a lot of poop in the driveway below the nest.

York Place May 10, 2018. Audible peeping from the nest but have not seen the eaglet(s) yet.

Marie has visited the Oak Bay nests while I was away. She saw 1 and possibly 2 eaglets in the York Pl. nest and 2 in the Lansdowne/Beach Dr. nest 2 weeks ago.

This morning Marie saw 2 eaglets in the York Place nest; one was really flapping its wings. Seems these eagles are again way ahead of the others in the area.
