These 3 photos are Dad landing in the nest with something in his left leg talons.

These next 3 are the eaglet mantling the prey. It lunged
at it and nearly knocked Dad off the nest.

The eaglet continued to mantle the prey and screep softly while Dad continued to sit on the side of the nest. The sun was setting by that time and casting a nice glow on the nest. The eaglet and Dad were still sitting in the nest when I left.

I drove around Beach Dr., Prospect Pl. and York Pl. and did not see or hear any eagles or eaglets in the area.

My last stop was the Sylvan Lane nest. The eaglet was sitting up in the nest but was very quiet. No adults were seen or heard in the area.

The first photo was taken between the 2 big branches and cropped.

The lone Gonzales Hill/Sylvan Lane eaglet was up this afternoon when we cruised by.

The single eaglet at the Golf Course was also up and branching. Looking away from my vantage point. I did not take a photo.

I haven't been to visit the Oak Bay nests since early July but decided to check on the eaglets this evening. There were no eagles or eaglets seen or heard at either the York Place or Lansdowne/Beach Dr. nest areas.

The eaglet was perched at the top of the nest tree at the Golf Course when I arrived; it was squawking and squawking but no adults came. I got back into my car to make some adjustments to my camera and when I looked at the nest tree again the eaglet was gone. I heard it squawking from somewhere down the road but I could not see it. A successful fledgling :thumlft:

There was no activity at the Sylvan Lane nest but I heard the eaglet squawking from a short distance away near the Gonzales hill area. I drove around but could not see it. Another successful fledgling :thumlft:

Kay: Last Friday there was an adult perched at Clover Point.
No adults seen yesterday either.

We drove by Oak Bay -Victoria Golf Course yesterday afternoon and were surprised to see an adult bald eagle perched in a tree in the utility area south west of the nest tree. I did not have my camera with me as I did not expect to have a sighting this early.
