I've stopped by the nest twice since the July 3rd visit and both times have seen both eaglets. One always appears to be lying down in the nest, at first I thought the eaglet may be weak and was a bit worried but there was a food drop while I was there on the 19th and I could see that that eaglet was eating while the other remained perched on the edge of the nest. So maybe it's just because there isn't a lot of room in and around the nest for eaglets to perch.
On my last visit there was one eaglet perched on the branch beside the nest that seems to be used each year by eaglets. I'm heading to Sechelt on Thursday so will hopefully have time to stop by and see if there are any new developments.

I stopped by the nest today and there was total silence, I couldn't hear or see any eaglets even after walking down the road a ways and walking further along the road at the top. I kept looking for movement in the nest or even a call from somewhere in the area, but after half an hour I didn't see or hear anything. When I stopped by last on the 23rd both eaglets were still there, one on a branch and the other in the nest. Is it possible that they have both fledged and left the area since then ?

Hi Karen, it seems like they have fledged!

Yes, hopefully fledged. Perhaps they are down near the water with ma &/or Pa, learning how to scavenge.
Thank you Karen!
