Welcome to the Blenkinsop Eagles thread for the 2018/2019 season. The eagles have been nesting on private property near Blenkinsop Lake for many years but the nest is not easy to view once the nest tree is in full foliage. The eagles have produced many eaglets over the years but unfortunately there are few photos of them available. The eagles can be seen perching in nearby trees and fishing at Blenkinsop Lake. They also perch in the trees along Blenkinsop Road near the Galey's Farm Market. One eaglet from this nest sucessfully fledged at the end of this past season.
Observations and photos of these eagles from previous seasons can be viewed here.

Re: Blenkinsop Eagles, Saanich BC - 2018/2019 Season
I finally made it to Blenkinsop Lake today. There are two beautiful big eaglets in the nest One was taking a nap while the other one was exercising it’s wings. Later both were up flapping their huge wings and jumping up and down, hopping from side to side in the nest One of the adults was perched in their usual snag lookout tree and flew across the lake to the log they sit on out in the lake. It looked like Mom and she had a few drinks of water before flying back to her perch in the snag.
