Morning and thanks, Marg and Heather...the nest looks a bit of a soggy mess and happy there is now that reinforcing rubber mesh installed! The nest must weigh a ton after a lot of rain.....!

Looks like the rain will continue on and off today and for the next several days...

Hoping Bev will have power restored soon ...... :luck:

Will check the perches and the flats...

I had a good look around - no eagles that I saw...[no gulls either, which, to me, is a sign there is nothing to eat out on the flats!]

No change at 12:09pm - no nest visits that I could see on the DVR.

No eagles on the flats that I can see...there are lots of ducks/geese? in the shallow water beyond Mom's perch..
Untitled 41750 (2).jpg
The flats look so bare... Guess there will be flying and hopping out there soon enough!

12:27pm Cam is on the nest.... :bye 1:

Hi Heather - thanks for checking! I wonder if your bird was the jay?

I looked back to Heather's post and - no nest visits.

Will take a look at the flats just for a few minutes...

ADD: I didn't see much activity on the flats - a few ducks in the water and some birds [crows?] perched on the logs..
Untitled 41784 (2).jpg
And perhaps one of 'our' jays flying by at Dad's perch ..

No fire engines yet - so guess it is a controlled burn... The weather is perfect for it...JMO

Cam is on the nest - I didn't see or hear any eagles on the look-around!

ADD: The noon news said there were still over 100,000 people without power in NS. Hope that is Bev's only worry!

:bye 1: for now..

I'm guessing Bev and family stocked up on what they'll need for a few days in case the roads are closed - and it's looking as if the current estimate for the general part of Nova Scotia where Bev lives is that it may be late tomorrow before power is restored. But happily the weather isn't terribly hot or cold, so I'm guessing they are doing fine.

And I expect the eagles will wait until Bev is back online before they return!
