Hi Linux, I think I forgot to post about this earlier, but I found that the two spots I marked (and this was in the stick tree, not the old nest tree), were not eagles or any bird for that matter. They were just shadows that did appear to be something familiar.

As for the fact that Ma was here and then was gone for a bit, I think Jean has mentioned this, and like you also said, that Pa use to be the first one back. Ma came back earlier just to stake her claim to her territory. But unfortunately there was some bad weather for a few days and like all the other eagles that had come back, Ma left for a bit to find shelter. Hoping we do see her again soon, and on the tree so that we can ID her.

3:27 pm - I am logging into the cams now.

3:33 pm - sorry it took so long....my computer is a little slow. :%:
Looks like a hawk on the center tower

3:35 pm - hmmmm, who are you? Not sure if this one is big enough to be an eagle. The lighting this time of day does not help me to determine that though.

After getting a closer look, this one seems to have a lighter chest, so must be a hawk.

Thank you SueB for responding to my posts.

It sure can deceiving to the eyes for it sure looks like body of an eagles . and thank you for your confirmation .. Darn shadows fool us more than once lol...

At any rate, When and if we do see an Eagle in the ( Stick tree- we call it the old nest tree for it is part of the old nest tree that has fallen) from we chatter viewers perspective, That it will surely be Ma and or Pa or Ma new mate , for this is their territory and they only perch in the Stick tree in the wee hours of the night when no eaglets are on the nest. We call it "tuck in time" when we are waiting for them to get to the stick tree for the night and know they are safe for the night.

Thank you for your input, good to have many eagle eyes n observations to compare.
and for reasons why Ma may not be returning to her nest right now.

4:55pm.........Thank you Linux for your post. We are all a bit anxious about Ma right now. Although there is no real reason to worry about her, it is a bit unsettling to see her in the tree and on the poles, then gone for a few days with no sign of her!

But when we think about it we can imagine all kinds of reasons for this that are rational. Ma came back early. Maybe knowing she needed to keep an eye on her territory so as to avoid a confrontation in the future with another eagle. She could have decided then, that with no one around who seemed to be interested in the nest at that time, that it would be ok for to continue her "holiday". And of course the weather took a bad turn for a couple of days, which would be enough to make anyone leave for a bit. It was interesting to see what we think were 2 adults after that, but again they disappeared. If there were lots of other eagles in the area right now we might have some reason to be uneasy about her, but there don't seem to be that many around right now. We can only speculate, as humans do, about the reasons and the scenario in general. Like you we are all waiting for her to return and stay this time and when she does we will all heave a sigh of relief.

Regarding the stick tree and old nest. When I was on the site 2 years ago I snapped this photo. It clearly shows the stick tree, without leaves and the old nest tree to the right of it. They are separate trees. Hope this helps to clarify things.

6:17pm......Checked the bay where we saw an adult last night............no one there tonight......very quiet, a few birds flying past but no eagles that could be identified as eagles.

The only adults I'm seeing right now are the neighbours on their tower.

6:29pm.......The hawk that was lower down on the first tower has now moved up to the top.

One of the neighbours just left the tower. It flew straight downwards.

One adult remains on their tower.
