8:38 am - someone on this east field tower
Re: Delta2 2023 - 2024 Observation and Discussion Thread
8:43 am - the feeding appears to be done as the adult on the nest is standing up straight....their mate is still on the left spike
Re: Delta2 2023 - 2024 Observation and Discussion Thread
8:46 am - as I had the cam looking out toward the north a great blue heron came flying into the picture.....they came toward the pole nest and then in front of the east field trees and landed on the ground....not too long though as they must have been scared off by something and flew off quickly
Re: Delta2 2023 - 2024 Observation and Discussion Thread
9:15 am - the two tower eagles remain at their tower....I guess with babies they are staying close by.
I am now off the cams.
I did not see our pair anywhere but we only have views of the first tower, the east field trees, and the evergreen pole at this point. Every other perch that they frequent is blocked by the trees surrounding the pole nest.I am now off the cams.

Good morning Delta,
I'm still around , watching our nest for any encounter's of our Ma and DM..sadly not again this season. But keeping watch on the nest.
Keeping up with the updates on forum for any sightings of Ma and Dm. Watching Delta since 2012, Ma and Pa , Ma and Trooper,
Ma and DM now and cannot move on from our beloved Ma, even if we have an empty nest.
Watching Surrey nest for soon wee one to hatch, while keeping eye on our nest.
?, I am sure Ma and DM have taken nest on the nest they built last season at the tower. Has anyone, ground crew ventured out to see if they are indeed nesting again there this season?
I so miss the updates regarding Ma and DM for I am still interested in keeping up with our beloved Ma...and I have not seen any updates or posts regarding our pair besides possible sitings on the poles they frequient perch on.
Perhaps one day, they will venture to take root in the condo in the sky by thier old homstead nest tree..One can always have hope...
Thank you to all who continue to post on their time on our forum for updates at and around our Delta nest.

8:06pm adult on the tower nest. We're pretty sure they are feeding at least one eaglet there now but I don't think I'll be as lucky as Sue was earlier to see an adult bent over doing it. Maybe there will be a late feeding but probably not..

I wondered if you were still checking in here.
Yes, it's disappointing that Ma+DM didn't take to the nest pole this year but I don't think it's unexpected either. At least we know they are still in the territory as we've occasionally seen them in the stick tree etc [ admittedly they didn't seem to spend any overnights in it like the previous year]. I am one of the "ground crew" that visited the Delta location at times last year but I have no plans to do so this season.
Both Sue and I also zoom at the Boundary Bay nest, and if you haven't done so yet, I encourage you to check it out. There is a mated pair using the same style of nest pole that we have here and they absolutely seem to love it. They have 2 eggs that are likely to hatch within the week. Hopefully all will go well.

Re: Delta2 2023 - 2024 Observation and Discussion Thread
10:20 am - one tower adult is on their nest
Re: Delta2 2023 - 2024 Observation and Discussion Thread
10:35 am - looks like an eagle on top of this east field tower and not sure if that's another one below...will keep an eye on them.
10:38 am - and yes....that is another eagle on the lower level of this tower and I could see a white head and tail as they made their way over to the right a bit....I'm wondering if they have a nest there in the center area where this adult started out.
Re: Delta2 2023 - 2024 Observation and Discussion Thread
10:43 am - the adult on the lower level flew off to the right....their mate then flew off and circled back to the nest (yellow arrow)....which I assume now is on that lower level. Exciting! I assume since one adult was there and only off the nest for a little bit and then the other one took their place that they have eggs....and maybe babies by now. Will have to keep an eye on this one to see if we eventually see eaglets....although it is quite a distance.
Re: Delta2 2023 - 2024 Observation and Discussion Thread
11:08 am - the tower mate came flying in from the left with a meal and landed on the pole...hmmm...what's up with that...shouldn't they go to the nest?
Re: Delta2 2023 - 2024 Observation and Discussion Thread
11:09 am - the tower adult on the nest flew off to the left.....their mate then brought the meal over to the nest and began feeding their young
Re: Delta2 2023 - 2024 Observation and Discussion Thread
11:09 am - caught the tower adult that had just left the nest with the west cam....as they had just passed by their left pole and kept going.
Re: Delta2 2023 - 2024 Observation and Discussion Thread
11:14 am - at this time the feeding was still going on
11:27 am - the adult seemed to be out on the rail here And a couple minutes later they moved to the right and appeared to be getting ready to cover up their young
I really couldn't tell when the feeding was done as I think the adult was eating some for themselves toward the end....11:27 am - the adult seemed to be out on the rail here And a couple minutes later they moved to the right and appeared to be getting ready to cover up their young
