7:09pm I just wanted to add, regardless of who Sue saw earlier, we know that both Ma and DM are back in the territory :woohoo: as they were both seen in the stick tree tonight.

So awesome to read post that Ma and DM both seen at the stick tree , home safe and healthy from migration . I missed seeing both of them together..

Now, please come to the new nest, just check it out, we are so sure you will absolutely love it for your new home :)

? I'm not a bird specialist by any means, always love others insights, answers, thoughts , and scientific responds to questions
asked on the forum..
My ? is...what, why are Ma and Dm not interested in the new nest? The nest David built in the old barn tree after they lost their
beautiful main tree nest they took to right away upon returning that following year from migration to find a new nest built for them.

What is different about this one as to why they are not interested? Yes they perhaps have frequently visited it to eat a meal on, but
by no means no interest to use it as a main nest..And, they know of the nest but yet not for a nesting tree to raise their young, and
It is in the vicinity of the old main nest tree.
Ma and DM have even perched in the old main nest tree during the nesting season so they are very familiar with the location...

Scratching my head on this one.. ;)

8:24 am - Good Morning Delta 2! I was having some issues getting onto the zoomer cams this morning, finally got in and then noticed the forum was down....and now the embedded cam screen does not have sound...at least on my end. Maybe it's just my computer having all these issues but I will work through it.

I logged into the cams around 8:15 am. Since that time I found one adult, out in the east field on the Power Tower

Good Morning Linux! I'm not sure why our pair has not taken to the pole nest but I had heard that at the end of the 2021-2022 season, one of the adults began to build the nest at the center tower. I think since our cams were all messed up we were not able to see the center tower at that point so we were not aware of it until one of the ground observers mentioned it, so that nest was already started before the pole nest went up.

8:49 am - I believe there is an adult on top of this tree to the right of the Tower eagles' smaller tower

8:54 am - looks like a great blue heron that flies by the cam as we are looking out to the Power tower in the east field....still seeing an adult up on top of that tower.

And then seconds later a 2nd adult hops over from the center of the Power tower to show themselves....I assume they've been there the whole time....just behind the center posts and out of our sight.

SueB,

Thank-you for your obs and reply to my ? .

I thought the tall new pole nest was already up before Ma and DM returned from migration last year to ensure it was done before they returned, And the old barn tree nest was taken down before they arrived to ensure they would hopefully go to the new pole nest that was installed for them. And I thought the tower nest they started to build after they returned from migration last season , and did not choose the new pole nest for the season, as to which they started building a nest in the tower , verified for us since by ground observers since our cams could not see in that direction.

That is my thought on it that I can recall from watching the goings on at the nest and on forum. , but I very well may be wrong on the timing of it all.

Perhaps maybe this season, perhaps..we can only wait and hope and watch Ma and DM what they are going to do the next season.

9:14 am - one of the adults flew off the Power tower and headed to the right...tried to follow them but the cam did not stay focused....by the time I got back to the tower their mate was also gone.

9:19 am - found someone at the Far right pole...could be one of our adults
2023-10-15 12_19_53-Greenshot.jpg
And there is still an adult on the tree to the right of the Tower eagles' smaller tower.

9:25 am - as I was posting my previous post, our adult flew off the far right pole and headed to the left.
2023-10-15 12_27_22-Greenshot.jpg
I decided to take the West cam over to the left...sometimes we can just see the center tower....but before I got to the tower got lucky and found an adult on top of what looks like a small shed...I think this is just to the right of the center tower so I would assume it is one of ours.

9:42 am - the adult flew off the small shed and headed to the right...I followed them for a short bit before I was too slow and lost them behind the branches, but thought they kept going so took the cam over to the far right tower, thinking they would land there but they kept going and eventually landed on the Tower eagles' tower.....so I guess I was wrong...this was not one of our adults but is a Tower eagle.

Around 11:00 I drove by and there was one AE on top of the far right tower (ma’s) territory and one AE on the pole in the tower eagle territory facing ma’s far right tower.

Thanks Muriel. will take a quick look-about and see what I can see.

Doesn't look like there's anyone on top of the far right tower anymore but there are two eagles at the tower now... one on the spike and one on the nest.........hmmmmm...... :chin:

Could there be a new mate in the picture?
