First pictures, with big thanks to CC398! All of these click much bigger.
Three views of the old nest (the middle one went upright when I clicked on it).

Great pictures, CC398. Sure can see the section of the tree holding the nest is no longer living. Wow! Thanks for being there to document this great day for Ma.

From CC398 - the new nest (click to see them right side up)
David Hancock is on the right with the light blue shirt; I think the person on the left is Mike Seear.
I'm not sure who the person on the far right is.
Just guessing here - but this could be the guy with the auger to dig the hole for the pole. I believe the plan is to have it near the trees.

From CC398 - CC says "I've included a photo of Ma and DM's dock pole and tower because I think it's very cool."
Ken (our amazing tech guy) doing the final wiring for the cams - note that the cables go into a rubber hose to protect them when they get buried.

David's friend Mahara sent me this image - that's a big pole! It also clicks a lot bigger.
If you go to full size and look at the right edge, you'll see the person running the auger and the really big blade.

1:22pm.....Thank you CC398, Judy, David, Mike (yes that is Mike in the photo with David) and all others working on this project! It is exciting to see things happening here. And we do appreciate the photos being posted as things happen so we don't have to wait and wonder how its going.

From CC398 - brief video of the nest being attached to the pole, giving an idea of the scale of the project.
Nest Being Attached (17 seconds)
The next part of the process will be attaching the cameras to the nest framework.
I've had an update from Ken, and it will probably be sometime tomorrow before the cams will be (fingers crossed) streaming.
Thanks, CC, for being our "eyes" at the site!

Thanks, Jean - I didn't see it in a quick look at the pics, and was wondering if it had fallen down. Not sure if they'll be able to rescue it - it would be nice if they could, but getting the new nest and cams in place is definitely a higher priority.

Great video! That nest looks so strong and secure! It must be a chore to attach it to the post.JudyB wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 2:43 pmFrom CC398 - brief video of the nest being attached to the pole, giving an idea of the scale of the project.

This is absolutely exciting!!! Can't wait for Ma and DM to return to thier new nest!!
Thank you Thank you CC398, JudyB, Jean, Sandy for all the updates and the pics and video to let we viewers be a part of the new nest building process....
Will be so good to have the cams back on to watch for our Ma and DM returning to their new condo in the sky.
Ma will tell DM, I think someone has renovated our home while we were away, seems a bit taller in the sky and bigger, lol...Did a little updating for us...
Our old nest, but it sure held strong for Ma , Trooper and soon DM..can really see how bittle the branches are from the pics posted today.
