5:20pm well it's possible our pair will spend the night in the previous nest tree. Almost can't see them now.

Hi Linux, yes we have seen them here before.Linuxgw2 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 22, 2022 5:18 pmwell, a good sign. Just awesome seeing them.
Dont think we have seen them this close or at the tree of previous nest before, I don't think we have. But I may missed a post of them on forum if they have been seen. And them perching in the tree as getting dark is awesome ..
Maybe, just maybe they will make thier way to the new nest n check it out. One as always optomistic .
Even though they have started to build a nest in the center tower, perhaps they will eventually seek out the new condo..
Wind is picking up .. looks maybe stormy weather on the way.
Both still perched in the previous nest tree, 5:17 pm nest time

See my post from Sunday, approx. 8:30pm. We thought we couldn't see the previous nest tree but in fact we can and this explains that.
And of course they have been closer to the new nest pole than this... when they were in the stick tree beside it.

Great job catching the pair, and so close! The suspense is killing me as to if the Great Ma Delta2 made it back and if and when they will finally check out the new nest.

From the rollback - at around 2:25 pm the adult was in the old nest tree

2:56 pm - got on the cams, had the East cam on the adult but decided to look around with the West cam....of course that's when the adult flew off

I think this is the closest I have seen the adults fly to the new cams

Checking out the nest maybe, how exciting!

4:32 am - Good Morning Delta 2! I know it's early but getting a head start here today. I Checked the rollback and last night at 5:18 pm the owl showed up for a few minutes....guessing he was testing the eagles to see if they would allow him to stay.....but then he flew off. I'm wondering though if the adults came to the nest last night because that owl was there the previous night for a while. Maybe trying to be sure the owl doesn't nest there in case they want to use it.
The owl moved over to the left and stayed a couple minutes
Then flew off
It seems to be quite bright out at the nest area right now so I am going to log into the cams to see if there's a view of where the adults were perched last night.Re: Delta2 2021-2022 Observation and Discussion Thread
4:37 am - I am seeing at least one of them (red arrow), but not sure about the other, although there is a darker spot (yellow circle) that could be them. Edit: I believe the circled area is just the darkness of the tree branch. Also I wanted to note that the eagle that is there this morning is in the spot that was higher up in the tree, as seen in Rose's last s'caps last night.
Seeing this odd coloring in the East sky.....not sure what this is but I assume this is why it seems brighter than normal at this time of the morning. One last note that I wanted to add was last night I was able to watch the rollback and at one point when both adults were near each other on the branch, the one on the right turned around and to me it seemed they had a limp, or were favoring that left leg. So who knows, that could have been Ma there, and she would have been the one that was lower down as her mate went up higher. Just my thoughts.

4:46 am - I am going to leave the East cam pointed at where the adult is perched. Will check back in a bit. They should be there until just before the sun comes up around 7:30 am.
If any other zoomer wants to take the cams in the meantime please do so.

5:30 am - one adult still in the previous tree
6:10 am - very dark out now and can barely see the tree now....but I did not see the adult fly off. Will keep the cam there and hope it lightens up soon.
6:00 am - losing some of the lighting but can still see the adult's white head here

6:36 am - it is starting to lighten up a bit and I think the adult is still on the previous tree

6:46 am - the adult is still on the tree
Re: Delta2 2021-2022 Observation and Discussion Thread
6:51 am - it's so nice to see an adult close by to the nest this early in the morning. Thanks to Rose for being on cams last night and catching them both together there.
6:56 am - the adult flew off the tree....headed downward and then went to the right....I watched them as they crossed over the field and could see just a quick blip of them as they headed toward the center tower.
Re: Delta2 2021-2022 Observation and Discussion Thread
6:56 am - here is about where I saw the blip of an eagle going by....very hard to see but just caught my eye after watching the rollback a few times.
7:12 am - I am now off the cams. I put the East cam on Day Patrol so it will be moving around. If anyone is watching and sees an eagle on camera please post about it. We will be short on zoomers over the coming days. Thanks!
I checked the other poles and towers and did not find either adult there, so I assume both are at the center tower now.7:12 am - I am now off the cams.
