The eagle stopped eating and left - and a moment later an eagle arrived with a huge stick.

And now the eagle is working on what must be a food item on the nest.

Delta East Cam Update

Ken spent several hours at the site today checking out all the wiring, connectors, etc (it was sunny - but temperature was around 8°C/47°F). He thinks the most likely source of the problem is a 100-foot long cable that runs (I think) from the box containing the computer equipment and power source to the base of the tree. That cable runs through an underground conduit - and his current plan (with agreement from the folks who live there) is to initially run a replacement cable on top of the ground to make sure that does solve the problem.

Ken won't be able to get back out there until sometime next week - and the weather doesn't look terribly helpful, though I know he's eager to get this fixed. I believe that if the cable works as he's hoping, he's planning to go back in a couple of days and pull it through the conduit so it will be more protected - hopefully before there's snow there to make all that more difficult.

Ken and I both wish that there was better news - and hopefully we'll finally get this resolved sometime next week.

4:42pm..My guess is this is Trooper. He's waiting a long time. I'm hearing sounds from the ground so someone might be around if that is the case Trooper might be waiting for that person to leave before he comes to check on the nest.

4:49pm..Finally our adult left the first pole...........he/she did not come to the nest so I cannot ID it. It flew to the right to join its mate who was as suspected, already inside the tower.
