7:40 am logging into both cams for a quick look see.
7:46 am the views from this morning. I checked the weather for Delta and suppose to be cloudy so not sure how much what we see this morning is smoke from the fires on the west coast or just plain cloudy. Probably a combination of both. Stay safe to our Canadian friends with the awful air quality. I didn't see birds this morning. 7:52 am logging off both cams.

That is pretty much smoke still, although more smoke starting clearing in the afternoon compared to how it's been since Friday. We could even see the sun a bit as I think the wind direction has shifted slightly, blowing the smoke in a different direction now. Still if we have it bad here, I really feel for the people in Oregon and California, who's smoke from fires there, we are getting here.

2:44 pm logging into both cams for a quick look. Rose, I hope the smoke is clearing some for all of you with the air clearing. My heart breaks for those in harm's way on the west coast.

2:48 pm well, it doesn't look good for the air quality as still smoky in the Delta area.

2:48 pm a large bird is at the first tower. Possibly a hawk. Eagle...not sure.

2:57 pm watching the bird at the first tower. As I was getting ready to post that I thought this might be an eagle as when it stood, looked larger then it flew. Editing this post as it was decided that it was a large hawk spotted.

3:01 pm lost it behind the trunk of the tree then picked it up again over by the flag pole. Then I lost it again. If anyone takes a look, please address if you think it is an eagle or another kind of bird. My id'ing seems rusty.
Editing this post as it was decided that it was a large hawk spotted. 3:18 pm logging off both cams.

4:23pm........Thanks Sandy..............it does look like a bit like an eagle to me but we cannot confirm. I will have a look at the rollback to watch it. And because this area by Boundary Bay is a gateway for many birds, including eagles, to come to, it could be anyone. If it was an eagle let's hope it wasn't one of ours yet as it is way to early to see Ma judging her past history. And even Trooper who is newer on the scene did not return this early last year.
ADDED: Just watched the rollback................his wings seem to be flapping quite rapidly and I think if it was an eagle it would not have looked like that..........wonder if this was a large hawk that was on the first tower?? We know the hawks have been hanging out here a lot while the eagles are away.
Also I noticed the cam went to the small tower area to the right of the Tower eagles nest...........looks like someone else perched in that area too...................don't know who or what.
