10:57 Hi Sandy, I just took a quick look around and no eagles in sight then spotted what looked like a juvie near that spot of fence below the center pole. Lost it quick as it flew to the right. I am out now and off the cams.

12:56pm....... .Good afternoon Delta2 friends! Thanks Sandy, Sue, and Darlene for posting today! Hopefully today will be the day that Shadow gets out there on his own.............sad for us to not see him but the best thing for him and his future! Shadow has stayed longer than all the other eaglets we've kept records on for the past 5 years now. Ma and Trooper are experienced adults who know what is best.........if they are not feeding him on the nest, they have a reason. He needs to eat all his meals off the nest now......it is time.

Very warm again today.

1:00pm.....IN on both cams.

1:16pm........Looked all around......not an eagle to be seen anywhere. The tide is way, way out at the bay.........maybe they are down there having a fishing lesson! There are some spots there but with cam bouncing it isn't possible to get a clear look.

I am now OFF both cams.

2020 Cam Maintenance Fund Drive

We're On Our Way!

Thank you so much to those of you who have donated - we are off to a great start!

As some of you know, this year, for the first time, one of our fledglings has a tracking tag. We've always wondered where our eaglets go when they leave the area around the nest - and now we know that Loki, the younger eaglet from the Surrey Reserve nest, headed to Bella Coola, BC, which is 448 kilometers/279 miles northwest of Surrey:
Image
She didn't get there in a day (it took 3 or 4 days) - and we won't reach our goal in a day either - but like Loki's first long flight, we are making great progress.

You can follow Loki's progress here - viewtopic.php?f=95&t=494&p=366532#p363544

And you can help us reach our goal by clicking the button below to make a donation to help us clean the cams so we can see next years eaglets clearly; I don't have a button with Loki on it - these are the Harrison Mills adults, and that's a place where salmon run later than at Bella Coola - so perhaps Loki will visit there in a month or two.

Details about How to Donate

If you have questions, please contact [email protected] or [email protected]

Thank You!

PS - I had to include this - Loki was the first of our eaglets to fledge this year - and this is Loki just before she took her first flight; it doesn't say "click to donate" - but will also take you to our donations page:

3:07 pm logging into both cams. Thought I heard Shadow a few minutes ago but will see. Oh good grief...editing as it wasn't Shadow I heard but had another eagle cam up and that was what I heard. Duh!!!!

Well, I didn't see Shadow nor any other eagles. Like Rose said, hope this is a good thing and Shadow is out learning eagle ways. 3:20 pm logging off both cams.

5:26 pm either Ma or Trooper maybe at the center tower. Not sure with the lighting but think I see an eagle on the inside.

5:34 pm logging off both cams. Other than the possible sighting of Ma or Trooper at the center tower, didn't see or hear any other eagles.

Looks like one of the adults is at the First Tower.

Someone in the Center Tower... most likely our other adult.
Aug1-CenterTower.jpg
No activity at the nest itself... no sign of Shadow at the moment.
