12:13 pm Hi Sue. I am going to leave now as need to do some computer maintenance. Will check back later. Thanks so much, Jean, for taking the cams earlier. Boy, the wind seems to have kicked up.

Sandy, thanks for being there when Trooper came in. I think our computers definitely need cleanup. Mine is slo-mo too....gotta figure it out because I have no clue what to do, lol.

12:21pm........I doubt that there will be much left of the rabbit once Trooper is finished. He seems to be eating most of it.
Thanks
Sandy.................
Sue, if you would like the cams just let me know.

Sorry, stepped away for a couple minutes and of course that was when Trooper took off....seemed like something spooked him. But he took his leftovers
Here he is flying off to the left...maybe going to the center tower

12:37pm.....Well, Trooper certainly did take off in a flash! He went to the right, but turned to the left and got lost at that point. Likely heading to some sheltered place for now. This wind is incredibly strong right now.................almost impossible to zoom the cams.............the distance is a blur.

I know it's very windy out there but wondering if Trooper went to the Old Nest tree....last season he went there with his leftovers and that may be a good spot for him with this wind the way it is.

12:42pm....Don't think we will see any more now. This wind is making all the birds take cover!
Sue, if he is in the old nest tree we cannot see him! Over the years this tree has just become more and more leaf filled!
I am now OFF both cams.

Thanks for checking Jean. I wasn't able to see him in the tree. You know Trooper though, he doesn't like this wind so he will be hiding out inside one of those trees out there. May need to wait for the winds to die down a little before he comes back out.
Thanks for zooming Jean!

12:29 pm - I went back to the rollback after Trooper left and caught something flying around out by the trees to the left of the far right tower.

Hi Jean..
I finally made it here without any trouble. I see I missed the fun...so I went back and found Trooper having a snack. I took a screen capture but not sure how to post it.

2:10 pm - Jean, I can't stay but just saw the screen moving as you panned from the first tower over toward the port pole and someone was soaring up there

2:24pm.....I did see someone flying from L to R and there were flashes of white so maybe an eagle..........but he was flying fast! And that wind that seemed to have died down is back now strong as ever! Very hard to watch anything that way!

I am now OFF both cams.

There are a few eagles back to the area as I saw a few while I was out and about. I had not seen ANY since early August so they will all be heading back about now.
Another thing my husband pointed out were the number of rabbits he sees when he runs out near the dyke and through the trails. He said he has never seen so many. I guess their numbers increase when the eagles go away as it is one less predator for them. We know that Trooper is an effective hunter so the rabbit numbers may dwindle. Sad, but such is nature and the circle of life. I hope to be back this season to observe and post as we witness another Delta eagle family success

There are pretty strong winds today. Noticed the gusts are now just picking up so may be difficult for the cams.

Cherryl! Good for our eagles that there are lots of rabbits right now (not so good for the rabbits)......and we had ducks in the watery fields too, but since this wind came up the ducks seem to have disappeared! Taking shelter I would guess. This wind is not typical for this time but it does happen........hopefully soon things will die down.
Good to have your reports
Cherryl! Thanks for all your help!

Jean, I went back to see what you were following and caught this....looks like two adults, up top, chasing off another eagle...maybe a young one.

4:09 pm - Good Afternoon Delta 2! I am logging into the cams. It still seems windy but maybe not as bad as earlier. I've checked the rollback and did not see anyone come to the nest.

4:20 pm - we had what looked like a young eagle flying over by the far right tower and then they landed there and stayed for a bit but then flew off
4:29 pm - here they are flying off to the left...they soared around for a while and then I lost them in the clouds...I think they went above the clouds...hmmm.
