What a great start to our cam maintenance season! Thanks to David for organizing all this, Ken for being on hand in case of computer/camera issues, and Stan for doing the work in the tree. And thank you, Sue, Sandy, Bev and Jean, for zooming and posting.

And good night, everyone. :offtobed:

You got that right, Jean. The views are just beautiful! And Stan is doing a fabulous job taking care of those domes and cams. Huge Thanks to Stan! And Sue, thanks for zooming tonight. And I enjoyed everyone's company getting these cams ready for another season.

I need to give it up for the night as it is past my bedtime and tomorrow will come earlier enough. Enjoyed it tonight and sweet eagle dreams to all.
Sandy, thanks so much for all your posts! Now I realize how hard a job it was for Jean all these years. Definitely appreciate all the help from Sandy, Judy, and Bev!

8:23pm.......Had a quick look around with our cams...........sure is a nice view with many of those branches gone that were lodged in the upper tree! And no pesky tape flapping in our eyes........and nice clear views!

A big, big thank you to all who were here today to help out or just watch! Thank you Sue...........wonderful zooming and perseverance! Thanks to all who posted on the forum...........Sandy, Judy, Bev, Sue, Linuxgw2 and Sharon!

Stan, we are grateful for your help here today! Many thanks to you for a fine job done! David.....always grateful to you for just being you and allowing us to see into this world of eagles.

Our eagles will hopefully like what they see here when they return...........at least we know it will be much safer for them now!

12:18pm........As expected, it is difficult to see much into the distance due to the raindrops on the cam covers or the misty air.

A piece of tape got missed yesterday.............not always easy to see unless the wind is blowing.

9:39am......Hmmm........what's this in the nest? Looks like part of a bird perhaps?

I checked through the rollback...........embedded cams seem to have been off for a few hours last night from about 12 minutes after midnight to about 4:45am.............that "leftover bird bit" appeared during the time when the cams were not streaming. So I guess we won't know how it got there. :dunno:

9:59am..................Took a look around with the cams......nice clear views! The cams are very jiggly today due to the wind, but the only birds I saw were tiny ones out by the towers. No eagles.

I am now OFF both cams.

Hi Jean! I was just checking in and saw your post on that object in the nest. Like you said, there was some sort of blip in the rollback between midnight and almost 5 am and of course that is when the object came into the nest. I’ve put together a short video from when it was originally seen and then a little before you got on the cams that thing was blown over by the wind. So when you saw it, it looked like a bird or something but it may have been a piece of bark. I have also included a little piece after you logged off, when that thing flipped again by the wind and is on its current position.

:vid: Mysterious Object on nest

Here is a s’cap of the current position of that object.

3:13pm......Thank you Sue..........it could have been a piece of bark. I did see it flip once when it was there during the dark hours of the night.......but unfortunately we couldn't see it come to the nest in the first place. If it was bark, then no birds were there to visit.

ADDED: This morning I did notify the tech thread that the cams were off for several hours last night.

Just learned the Surrey cams will be cleaned today at 5 pm - if anyone can help me look for areas needing cleaning, please post on the Surrey thread. I'll be online in about 20 minutes to start checking the cams.
